Grogar is a Gen 1 Villain. I got sad everytime Fluttershy gets sad because of Discord xD she loves him so much and you can see that soo clearly. ^-^ Soooo many great episodes are coming im hyped! ^,-,^
We also heard a story about Grogar in g4. It was the story Gusty the Great, which Twilight was reading to the sick foals in the hospital in season 7.

We do know discord was faking being hurt so the mane 6 could succeed but Im sure discord was honest about his feelings about them in his speech especially with fluttershy and twilight. Because he does care to give them the confidence to win so he does consider them friends and vice versa.
48:42 “Grogar” is a former G1 Villan kinda like “Tierek”. Also his name was briefly foreshadowed when Twilight was reading the story of “Gusty the Great” to the sick foals in the Hospital in S7E3.
1. When Tia said a transfer of power in a few days, Discord's reaction shows even he knew that was a stupid idea.
2. Discord basically knows in this game of life, he's the equivalent of a P1 w/ Turbo control and unplugging P2 control when ya not lookin.
Make sure to watch "The Best Gift Ever". It's a Hearth's Warming Special that's between Season 8 & 9.
I think you'll really enjoy it.
Uhh, my favorite 2 part episode in the show, and surprise surprise, it was written by the lady writers who wrote many good episodes including "a royal problem" and "the perfect pear" (I consider these 3 episodes as my all time favorites)! Sombra finally got his moment in the spotlight and he did a lot of damage. Sombras new established voice was a bit of a heated topic back than, but I think it works really well, it shows his overconfident yet cunning personality plus he sounds pretty intimidating when he needs too. We have an amazing set up for the rest of the season, with Grogar and the rest of the villains plotting to take down twilight and the others. A villain team up is a wish come true to the majority of the fans. I really love their dynamic here, cozy is just a great comic relief. Discord was in a great for in this one as well.
I would suggest reacting to the special, it was very good as well.

I will give this episode around 9.7, maybe more, while it could have been better it was amazing as it is.
I wonder how many people get Lunas dream powers wrong, like Dash.
That episode in season 7 confirms that her dream powers are connected to her cutie mark, meaning they are one of her cutie mark talents. She even says that she couldn't do anything because Celestia had her cutie mark,
And thank goodness for that! I wouldn't trust that prankster Dashie with something like dreamwalking powers!
Grogar and Gusty the Great are characters from G1 of MLP, like Tirek, Scorpan, and the Smooze are.
Your journey through the final season is going to be fun to watch.
It’s because of these premiere episodes that my love for King Sombra has grown so much! He really made his mark this time. Sure the new voice was…a little questionable but his time in the villain spotlight made up for it. He even destroyed the Tree and Elements of Harmony, that was an incredibly cruel feat!

@btamamura Since when does the E-mail notifications actually show the comment itself? Never happened for me. Also, who has their email notify them of every comment on their videos? It would be non stop emails. On top of it all it wasnt actually a spoiler in the end of the day.
@btamamura Last time i checked, the E-mail simply informs you that someome responded to you, not what they responded with. I am not spoiling anything in the first place as there was a "spoiler alert" and there was not really any spoiler to begin with. So dont cause a problem where there is none.

Funnily enough the fandom has been unofficially referring to the little group of villains as the Legion of Doom.
The rest of season 9 is really good in my opinion. I do hope you guys are enjoying the rest of season 9 if ya are watching it. And gen 5 movie and gen 5 series make your mark is really good in my opinion as well. Hope you guys can watch that to.

Yes your reaction to the season 9 premiere has arrived, congrats on reaching the final season guys i look forward to all your S9 reaction vids, anyway the season 9 premiere is one of my favorites it was good to see all the villains again just as it was good that Celestia and Loona wanted to make Twilight the next ruler of Equestria speaking of, fun fact: Twilight becoming the new ruler of Equestria was actually Lauren Fausts original idea to officially end the series before she left Hasbro few people know that, and i'm glad it's the idea that Hasbro went with.
Could have done it far better though. Two demi-gods retire just like that and leave it all to someone with *zero* ruling experience? The next logical step for Twilight at this point would have been to become the mayor of Ponyville....

The alliance of Equestria’s villains was one of the many things I wrote down on my S9 wishlist and I loved that writers took this direction. When you write a final season arc, you want to go big and loud!
I remember when a lot of people in the mlp fandom, especially the Brony Analysts called the villains team up The Legion Of Doom, it's a good thing that didn't become their official name otherwise DC Comics probably would've sued Hasbro for copyright infringement don't you think???

This season 9 premiere is my absolute favorite of the show! I never had one until this one aired. I was so invested with the entire plot, from start to finish, it isn’t funny.😅

I don't know how familiar with Brony Music ya'll are, but several years ago, Black Gryphon, his brother Baasik, and Michelle Creber, did a villain song called Stronger, with the figures of Tirek, Crystalis, and Sombra. Seeing these 3 villains together for the first time made me think of that song! I was like, "Did the crew listen to Brony music? Is that where this idea came from?!" My biggest wish was for the main villains to come together S9, and I can't tell you how happy I was for that to happen lol.
When I saw the part when Queen chrysalis watched Lord Tirek eating magic and the look on her face finding it weird. I was like Chrysalis your a changeling you feed on love to gain power and live so relax. 🤷🏼♀️
26:10 Looking at “Lycan’s” MLP Villans shirt I’m going to say that those were all the major villains and antagonists fir the first Two seasons. Sombra didn’t show up until S3. Therefore he wouldn’t have been included in that image.

@10:38 I often question why the Storm King was never mentioned in that conversation about the Princesses not helping with villain attacks. He is a canon villain after all.
It could be because the events of the 2017 mlp movie were supposed to be a separate continuity from the tv series, making the Storm King not count at least that's my guess.

@@SpacialRend7 Yup, but they were mentioned anyway, although another possibility as to why the Storm King wasn't mentioned could also be because he didn't really do much as a villain, i mean the only thing he did was rotate the sun and moon.

So you didn't react to the Hearths Warming Helper special? Because it comes in between Seasons 8 and 9 (despite being listed as part of Season 9 as Episode 0).
Grogar is a G1 villain. There was also a reference in Flurry of Emotions.
Personally, I thought that Part 1 felt rushed. There were too many things happening in quick succession that should've better shown the progression of time that can be forgotten is there because of that rushed feel. Part 1 alone should've been a 2 parter, making Beginning of the End a 3 parter to further emphasize the grand scale of the final Season.
And something that's evident in Season 9 is that they pull out all the stops. Anything that the writers wanted to do but didn't get around to has been done in Season 9. And many Season 9 episodes have the theme of tying up loose ends. I suppose not everything is addressed. But that's what the Season 10 comic is for.

I really wanted to see Sombra vs Starlight 1-on-1. Such a wasted opportunity. She is way better at combat magic then Twilight and better then her at magic in general..And it would be a coin flip who would win between Starlightand Sombra.
Twilights power in magic comes more from her connection with her friends and generally not as powerful without them.
Spoiler Alert:
The Starlight vs Chrysalis "fight" we got was a wasted opportunity.
Sombra vs Starlight? I mean, it would be interesting but that's kinda random. Sombra would win tho.
@@grace19005 Don't know that for sure. We have seen a much wider range of spells from her then we have seen from Sombra. She even has a spell that increases her size to King Kong proportion and sells that make her run like Quicksilver/Flash.
Not to mention a blast that puts all of Sombras to shame.
@@titanhades4331 We have seen more spells from Twilight as well and she still isn't more powerful than Sombra. If Twilight's magic isn't strong enough, I don't think Starlight would be any different. Sombra is an ancient shadow pony after all. This may be a matter of opinions but Starlight and Twilight are really close to each other in terms of power levels. Twilight never chooses magic as her first option so we never really see her full potential, meanwhile we have seen Stalight's. The only time Twilight was full on beast mode was when she fought Tirek but she had all the alicorn magic so we still didn't see how strong she really is. In their season 5 battle, they were also shown to be equal.
I do have issues with the way this set things up with Twilight taking over. Main one being that it keeps treating it like being the one to go out and beat up bad guys is the main job and primary requirement of leading a nation, when that is not anywhere near what the job actually requires, but the show never seem to acknowledge this, equating being able to kick Sombra's ass with being able to handle the completely non-combat related task of being a head of state.
Also with how damn fast they pushed it. I could see Twilight taking over, but just "We out, have fun!"... it really comes off more like the Sisters just want to get a vacation ASAP more then this is actually a thought out plan. It should take a LOT longer then even this is given afterwards to slowly let Twilight grow into the roll. This is a case where aiming to end things on this note makes sense only when viewed exclusively through the lens of this being Twilight Sparkle's story, but makes no sense in the larger context of the setting.
Still, lot of great things here! And yes, you are not alone, fans started calling this team up The Legion of Doom more or less from the get go. And they are GLORIOUS! As is Discord here, you can tell that he really does want to help out, but in his own unique, chaotic way. Gotta love a good trickster mentor!
And that`s just a few of the major issues with this series finale.
This is a little kids show so of course they need to simplify the requirements to rule a country, showing Twilight lwraning about taxes would be boring and a was te of time
i wont be watching Gen 5. im in the camp of there were still stories to tell with Twilight, Starlight, Trixie, and the others.
