Great video! I have had old VW air-cooled cars all my life and have adjusted them similar to this but I needed this video to confirm it was pretty much the same on my 1966 Amazon 122s. Cheers,
Before the adjustment process is undertaken, worth a careful examination of the rocker arm shaft and also the rocker arms themselves. Any slop therein won’t result in successful valve clearance adjustment. Also, I’ve heard the camshaft position as being on the “toe” when adjusting clearance.
I had heard the "sum of 9" where valve #8 is fully open and #1 can be adjusted, #7 open & #2 is adjusted, etc, but I think I'll try this method of "sum of 5" today. Seems easier and faster.
What about if the camshaft is slightly worn and thus the 0,40 (I think the original setting when new was?) valve setting can't probably be used any more?
Nice. But arent valve clearance usually adjusted with a warm engine? Especially on pushrod engines? Or are Volvo valve clearance values listed for cold engine?

Yes there are values for warm and cold engine
Great video! Is there a trick to rotate engines with a fan clutch (w/o removing it)?
If you turn the crankshaft pully with a wrench, the camshaft will turn as well!
Brilliant, just the job
does this cover b30?
Too hard. Just set at top dead center adjust 4 valves, then rotate only one time to top dead center again and adjust the other four...
👍 👍 👍!!!
