He was even faster in his younger days at Bremen and then Wolfsburg. He just had that one injury in 2016 i think which took a toll on his pace and many more series of injuries kinda stopped him abit. I believe he would have been a better player than we are seeing now.

He reminds me a lot of Yaya Toure. Toure was more physical, but De Bruyne is the better passer. Both commanded the midfield and could take the play from defense to offense and convert spectacular goals. Both all time great players.
I’m some people may compare his passing and Trent’s and I did that for a bit and what I learned is Trent only has a similar technique to kdb with the whole whipping it in and curve but Trent needs a bit of space where as kdb can do that too without space but what set him apart and better is the short and intricate passes that he makes that are one touch and without even looking. It’s that pass he makes when someone on the left passes it to him, he’s got two guys running towards him and are basically in his face and he just pushes the ball and like helps it along between them all the way to the right somehow and carries on the attack. That one pass is sooo hard to pull of under pressure and get it right. If you’ve played football you’d understand how hard it is because on tv looks soo easy but it’s not easy at all
