Introduction to Psytrance: Twilight

Twilight is one of the most recent terms created to describe a specific style of psytrance. The twilight sound however exists almost since 2002. Since it's a new term many listeners have difficulties to understand what exactly means. Twilight is something like a dark, harder, more edgy form of Full On. It's less ''cheesy'', less happy and much more aggressive. For years we used the term Full On for it as well, but listening to the video you'll see why Twilight is considered a different genre than Full On.
The three biggest scenes of Twilight sound are the South African, the Portuguese and the Israeli one. Of course Twilight Psytrance is produced all over the world. South African artists are the ones who named the style, but I decided to have a video exclusively for them for reasons you can read there.
Twilight Psytrance has a darker feeling, but it's still melodic perfect for the time where the light gives its place to the dark, hence the name Twilight. It has rolling a bassline, but it's usually much more aggressive than normal Full On and the percussion is usually fatter.
