TBF it's pretty honest about what people play. So many people seem to believe that GE is the best way to play Squad. Its not hard to show how trash it is, considering the state of GE.
GE is just bad all around, its a okayish mod for people who are new but that's it. No ICO makes it feel like a COD match and no one speaks to you everyone just does their own thing. Also all the factions are just AK vs AR its not really fun to play. Thats just my Opinion tho no diss to the dev

Sadly Marksman get a very bad rep in squad because it's a favorite of the COD and BF players that don't want to work with the squad and go do their own thing so a lot of veteran squad SL players will just boot anyone that plays Marksman or Sniper nowadays. At least he asked you to change classes first most won't even do that.
Fr, fan feedback creating a mod that is worse in every way to base squad. It shows that squad actually knew what it was doing when it just ignored all the whining about its design decisions.
@mercer4038 let me just add a cas helo that can shoot every projectile and rocket in the game, is faster than any vanilla helo and has armor so you can't shoot it down with small arms, to a gamemode where the only AA is mounted mgs that can't aim higher than 20degrees and lat kit rocket launchers. Bro the frustration of being a marksman is real. Like im a player that can actually use the class to its fullest advantage and do bits. I usually play vanilla squad and as a marksman im always at 20+ kills every game, doing recon work and finding locations for radios/habs, while also being a good support player for the squad when needed. But its understandable that people do get kicked when literally 95% of all players can be more of use as a unarmed.
From my experience SLing random squads, after spending hundreds or thousands of hours trying to get weird, random boys to cooperate, I don't have the time or patience left to worry about or argue with my marksman and gamble that he's any good. If I'm lucky I'll get 45 minutes of play by play intel about a mortar fob that's 2km away. I need LAT and AMMO, you can snipe with an ACOG. The guns are really fun to derp around with and I do employ them situationally when overwatch makes sense. Back in my semi try hard squad playing days, anyways. Squad playing days in general, it's been a few years.
The GE experience is trash. I have yet to have a enjoyable game in that mod. Strangely, though Supermod is of course a mod, I find the Supermod player base more reliable as squad mates.
People in squad that kick ppl for taking kits are stupid. Like ask ppl to go medic and hat but calm tf down. Marksman are plenty useful they’re just played by cod kids 90% of the time
The only thing that stops me from playing this game and imho making it a fucking joke in the class of FPS shooters is that we are supposed to be playing as Noodlemen loosely based on humans. Noodlemen have the same guns as us but they have noodles for arms and legs so running more than 5cm and shooting more than one bullet accurately is impossible by default. Talk about balance and "go play cod fagit" all you want, but this is a fucking mockery of the very concept of common sense to do this in a game where 90% of the players are infantry navigating a 100 by 100 miles square mostly on foot.
We had accurate weapons with no stamina problems. Every game was CoD on a big map. ICO is a necessary evil to get people to slow down and work together. Suppression works really well now and that's fun. One shotting everyone effortlessly is boring. Longer fights are fun. Tactics are important now. Patient play makes the sway and inaccuracy simple to deal with. It's not perfect. But pre ICO Squad was very uninteresting combat wise.

Supermod is just all around a better mod and the only reason people play GE over it is for the enemey voip, which is the worst part of that mod.
