    Brutally kills a bandit whilst defending his new farm.
    “You feel comfortable.”
    What kinda history is our humble farmer hiding?

      Considering Roman Legionaries were made into farmers when their service ended and this universe turned The Empire into a knockoff Roman Legion, it stands to reason they would do the same with their veterans who retired.
      also he kayfabed it by saying that his guy was a pit fighter-turned-farmer

    i really like the no fast travel, you can use the cart later in the series maybe and whenever you can buy a horse you could ride it into town. but it adds to how peaceful it is if you dont fast travel. this series is great

    • @Rob17Cotton
      @Rob17Cotton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @nolan , yeah I agree to an extent but with low level characters or none fighting characters no fast travel at all can make a journey across Skyrim very dangerous but I definitely like that idea for more adventurous and warrior like characters 😊😁

    • @Ghostslovecupcakes
      @Ghostslovecupcakes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I had a few mods in my game that increase guard patrols and the amount of followers you can have. That way you can still immersively walk to towns but you can hire multiple mercenaries as “caravan guards”

    • @Rob17Cotton
      @Rob17Cotton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Ghostslovecupcakes yeah that could be really useful for a non fighting character, the extra followers especially, the extra guard protrols would be good for immersion also 😊

      @Marie Blemmith true XD I try no fast travel but it always goes awfully. I somehow find myself in the middle of a mountain cause I couldn't find the location and then a dragon kills me 4 times in a row XD. Tbf I suck at Skyrim so that'd prolly explain it

    • @Rob17Cotton
      @Rob17Cotton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pinkusdean1178 don't worry I wasn't really very good at Skyrim when I started to playing, I had similar problems. but what really helped me is to build up skills and to select the correct perks for the sort of character you wanted to be, if you good with one handed weapons work that skill up or two handed ect, if you want to defeat dragons easily build the archery skill up, Fendal a wood elf npc you can find in river wood can help you get to level 50 archery if you befriend him, you can get the coins you pay him to build your archery skill up by making him your follower and taking it from his inventory also the werewolf guys in white run are good for building your battle skills up they have several npc that can help you build different skills up you just need the coin which if that's a problem let me know and I'll tell you a trick or two help with that just let me know 😊

    When Skyrim first came out in 2011, I somehow before purchasing the game got the impression that you could be anything; from a hunter in the woods to a farmer. I remember being very excited to get my bow and arrows, build myself a cabin in the woods and survive off of game and foraging. After playing it and realizing that this initial impression wasn't true, I still loved the game and played hundreds of hours throughout the years, but that hole in my heart never healed :(.
    I just stumbled upon this video, and it immediately reminded me of the feeling I got when I first bought the game, and on the way back home I kept reading the back of the cover and imagining my first venture out into the woods. I guess I'm downloading Skyrim again...

    • @JacobyWakeby

      Yep, that's why I added all these immersion mods to my game, adding all the roles I wish were in the base game.

    I had a female character who I rp'd as a farmer. I hunted for eight levels until I said that my character was not scared to fight spiders. I did this for every challenge. She was very sneaky due to hunting. I made contributions every Sunday at church, farmed in between. Hundreds of hours later she was married and moved to Solitude. Thus her story was over and she retired. Very very immersive play. No fast travels and it was one of the best plays I ever had.

    Maybe eventually you can find yourself a nice partner to settle down with and to help you around the farm? Idk
    Edit: I think it should happen slowly, like maybe meet them in Whiterun when you're selling crops or buying stuff, or maybe even in Riverwood? Idk, i think a relationship could be cute if it was built over time and blossomed like that, nothing too immediate

    I like the little story you came up with. I came up with a high elf character who was raised to serve the thalmor and she has a younger half sister, who is supposed to be half high elf, half dark elf (the sister's main build is a dark elf assassin) but her sister was taken away from her, raised to be an assassin so my high elf, having learned what the Thalmor were up to, decided to run away from the Thalmor and try finding her sister. Of course, because she ran away from the Thalmor, my high elf was never able to use magic because the leader of the Thalmor had her magic sealed away as punishment (which is why my high elf was found going to be executed alongside Ulfric, and his stormcloaks). Sad to say my High Elf never did find her sister but she did manage to stop the Thalmor and their treachery (and altho theres no way to stop the stupid civil war between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials, I pretend that she somehow managed to do so and became like a trusted minister or advisor of sorts to the Emperor and all the Jarls of Skyrim).

    Hey Jacob, long time Viewer first time commenter, had an idea for a new series to replace life as a skooma dealer.
    Life as a blacksmith/miner this is my idea...hope you take it into consideration. Great videos and amazing content very underrated.
    Also there is a no fast travel mod just BTW

    • @TheFlashPirates
      @TheFlashPirates 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had said that too about a life as a miner character. Selling jewels, making ingot and going town to town selling what you craft with the ore you find.

      @@TheFlashPirates i feel like life as a miner would be to short since there really wouldn't be an end goal. If he starts as a miner and works his way up to black smith be a longer series more content for us. ^^

    If you continue Life As A Beggar, maybe try recreating the looks of your beggar friend from Ep. 1, the one that got killed by a bandit? Maybe he miraculously survived, and subsequently owes a great debt to someone (or something), and is forced into utter depravity to survive.

    • @secutorprimus
      @secutorprimus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being forced to offload your coin would hamstring your ability to get proper food and gear, and combined with mods that can remove up to 90% of the available food found randomly in the world, it would feel like a truly hopeless life. Console commanding in a shiv for your character to use would enhance this, as well, imo
      What would he eat? Might he even resort to cannibalism, or consume rotten food left on a plague victim? Would he look above, to the heavens, for help in his dire situation, or below? And what would he have to give up in return?
      I've done a few playthroughs following this formula, and it was fun every time (provided I used the correct mods).

    It would be awesome to see you build a family and build some character development with the family. Then end your series with a large group of bandits attacking your farm and wiping out your family. Then you go from life as a farmer to life of vengeance.

    My favorite character of yours, good guy. Is he selling what he farms or farming ingredients for potions? If the latter, he might have to travel around Skyrim for ingredients to plant. And might want to meet Frida in Dawnstar for alchemy quest. And become thane of Dawnstar allowing you to buy land behind your farm so you can build a house where your bedroom isn’t in the basement.

    I enjoyed th Beggar play through. I did a pt once where I had to level Pickpocket to 100 without Training before I could level any thing else.
    What mod have you been using to do these play throughs? Also, what mod are you using that allows you to build and farm? I know Hearthfire allows farming at Hjelarchen and building and farming in Falkreath. I recall that Atronach Crossing allows building any structure anywhere.

    Love the series. Think you have WAY too much gold. Seems like he would have spent all savings on a farm/supplies like you’ve got. Maybe better just to reset the gold to a few hundred pieces?

    • @JacobyWakeby
      @JacobyWakeby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, Skyrim makes it really easy to get gold, I might have to implement custom rules of no looting and only earn gold through legitimate means. I might get rid of my current gold but then again all that iron will be costly.

    • @Noot-Noot7305

      @@JacobyWakeby my recommendation would be to pay property tax every now in then since you own land on a jarl’s land. Also, using money to upgrade your house and buying food supplies to cook in survival mode. You could also invest money in stores or offer money to shrines if your character is religious. Finally if that isn’t enough maybe download a mod that makes goods more expensive because of the war.
