I know the time of release , this film carried a great expectations that time , Diwali 2001( cycle shop owner told to some one this movie is well advanced in time,my + 2 commerce professor told as he saw first day and review as boring, but I have other opinion, but didn't see in full screen, now this time re release, I saw twice, i understand why animation scenes,u can see very opposite of physique of nandhu and Vijay Kamal, opinion of killing, about media, about belief, about living together, meaning of laughter, brother hood, father hood, mother hood ( if film has 2.30 hr running in 2001, it could have beaten Bala's Nandha )🎉🎉🎉

While reviewing the movie, it's basic due diligence to at least check when the movie released originally.. The movie released in 2001, not in 2003. This was 200th movie in Kamal Haasan Sir's Filmography..
Actually this movie was told as flop.. because it came with very very huge expectations.... producer told it was flop on 3rd day of release itself because he expected 10 times profit.. This is a cult movie. Scary, gripping, masterpiece. Finest direction with available technology... Star tv, gold winner also payed advertisement cost to producer. So dhanu made money from various streams...but the ego clash between dhanu and kamal spoiled this creation... I don't think audience are still ready for this movie....like shivaji sir told in devar magan, namba payan medhuva thaan varuvaan....
I saw Prashanth on the opening day with a very small group of people who knew about the quality movie and our Kamal Hassan. However, this movie won't last long as will soon be replaced by another epics like Muthu new thukkada superstars, who will just treat these folks like trash.
