On Sunday, November 17, 2024 the poetic English pianist Paul Lewis will return to Parlance Chamber Concerts. Universally celebrated for his masterful interpretations of Schubert’s music, Lewis will perform the composer’s profound final trilogy of piano sonatas.
Completed just weeks before Schubert’s death at 31, these valedictory works dwell in a liminal space where dreams and nightmares intermingle, offering music that shifts between tenderness, wonder, terror, and awe.
