When Jeff Ellis talks about the "mixer brain", I realize that becoming a good mixer is also about becoming a good producer first. This requires a massive amount of music appreciation first and foremost.

Not so much about producer, but becoming an Artist Engineer unlike like I need to make this eq move, ohh Its too loud etc and rather embrace emotions. Thats why Manny is the best Mixing Engineer, he say he listens with his emotions, Jeff understood that too and thats how you make the best Art for sure.

Really good interview! Jeff is becoming my favorite person to talk about engineering. Inspiring me to buy my own console 😂
But yeah the key take-aways for me are: Be fearless when diving into your emotions and Be aware when the music starts to move you physically and emotionally.
So much good stuff from this and the mixcon video! Thank you guys! 🙏🙏🙌🙌

Basically people are listening to tutorials from people not qualified to give them... I wish more people talked about this

Exactly especially these fl studio “engineers” who don’t know basic plugin order.

yeah the best way to learn is listening to actually qualified people and watching live streams of producers
