A full 30 minute plus review of the Night Fox Swift II, showing tactical movement through a house with both passive red dot and IR laser, movement outdoors at night, and shooting at and 90 yards using a Votatu V840-IG IR laser module.
This is my longest, most comprehensive video ever. Please like and subscribe!
Full watch, really good review man. I cannot believe how good digital NV has gotten. Wow.
I agree and thanks very much for the comment and for watching
Same, I can't wait to see this stuff in 5 years.
Full watch squad! 👍
@RubyRidgeWaco thanks Ruby!
Great to see digital night vision equipment getting this good. Especially in passive mode. Thanks for the review!
It is shockingly good for the price, I appreciate the comment as always brother.
I'm glad that you pointed out that you have to practice. People think they can just pick up new gear and be good with it.
That is an incredibly dangerous attitude and I wish more people in the guntube sphere would point this out.
Great review Brother
Thanks chris! For the price these are impossible to beat
That was some good shooting. The Votatu laser is as impressive as the Swift II is.
Thanks Sgt, and thanks for posting!
I'll tell you what, when combined with that IR laser this thing, for the money it costs, wow you're really getting something you could use in a whole lot of real world scenarios.
I definitely agree
I have to admit this is pretty slick
That's something else.
Thank you for the great review, I just ordered the nightfox swift 2 pro and I have the same laser for my ar so couldn’t have asked for a better review. There were so many poor reviews on Amazon for these nvd’s so I was definitely questioning whether it not to get them, but you sold me on them for sure. Thank you
It's 200 bucks, so anyone expecting to get a $3,000 passive night vision system is obviously going to be disappointed, however if you compare it to a man with no night vision bumbling around in the dark it's a massive upgrade as my video clearly shows). It is actually real world usable, but you will need to practice with it.
Did you receive them yet? I'm curious how they are working for you.
@ yes I did. They work good. The only issue I’ve had with them so far was when connecting the mount to the head strap, the screw was not long enough to reach inside the threads. Luckily I have a bunch of little screws. However, with using my other screws it makes it impractical to keep an Allen wrench around to unscrew it to be able to take the head strap off to then be able to put the nvd’s in the protective case. So I just leave the head band on the device and won’t use the case for it. Which is unfortunate but it’s whatever.
@@Devinengel089 Go pro thumbscrews are what you'll want for that. I also highly recommend a helmet, whether ballistic or bump (ie not bullet resistant). head straps - all head straps- are awful.
Ebay has bump and ballistic helmets for well under $100.
@ so I have a bunch of gro pro thumb screws but they are too thick to fit in there for this screw. And I like the head strap because I’m just using this for coyote hunting at night. And I need to be warm so a helmet is not needed nor is it easy to use while wearing a face mask. At least in my opinion. Thanks for the ideas though.
Nice
Thanks for posting, my lady.
I've been wanting to get into the NV game and this one I've been looking at for a while. Glad you like it and I like the long form review 👍
Thanks matt. If you're looking to take the plunge in the night vision for 200 bucks you're not going to go wrong with this one. Make sure you get yourself a helmet to go with it. There are some really inexpensive ones on ebay.
@Valorius I'll definitely get the helmet. But I also like the tripod mount for observation
@AmattEUR you don't need a ballistic helmet per se you can get an inexpensive bump helmet on eBay also.
I highly recommend votatu infrared laser unit I was using in this video as well. With my code it's like 50 bucks, ipx6, 1,000 G-Shock rating and has a nice bright white light and green laser too. I cannot comprehend how they sell it so cheap but they do
@@Valorius that's a great deal 👍
Really impressive
It's amazing what 200 bucks will get ya nowadays.
It sure is
good stuff brother
Thanks for dropping by!
That's really neat.
Fancy!
Also have the votatu ir laser. Been using it coyote hunting. Works great.
Tip on navigating. If you fold the eye blinders on themselves away from ur face you can see your feet in peripheral
Yep, good tip.
The Votatu V840 is incredibly impressive for the price. Like incredibly impressive.
When did kid rock get into tactical gear?
LOL!
Lol, thanks for watching
What software version are you running?
Mine came with the software out dated. They told me I would have to ship it to Europe to have it updated. From what I understand, the update is basically like a whole new device
I updated it with the latest firmware on their website.
Do prowl
Already did👍
@Valorius which was better in your opinion? Heard the prowl update made the lag non existent in the prowl
@@6030jdr Having tested them both, the Swift II is hands down better.
Neither one is laggy after installing the latest firmware, however if you spin your head fast the camera will "blur" momentarily with either. (much like spinning around with your naked eye very quickly).
The one advantage of the Prowl is that you can use it as a weapon sight on a .22 rifle (watch my prowl video for the parts needed)
@@Valorius thanks man! I have been looking for someone who had both for a comparison! Great vids!
@6030jdr yw! Let me know what you end up going with
I didn't see a link to it.
Ooof sorry ill add it.
It's in the description.
@@Fury-161 I added it.
200 bucks?
Actually under $200. And about $250 if you include the infrared laser and use my discount code.
Save your money....get analog.
Simply not cost-effective for most people. In fact it is not cost effective for the overwhelming majority of people.
If you're a father with three kids, a wife and a mortgage with car notes you need $3,000 night vision like you need a hole in the head.
However you can plunk down $250 bucks for the laser and night vision in this video, and still have a very credible real world capability for the run of the mill real world scenarios that you might actually need Night Vision for (basically looters or rioters, amd.plinking pests on the farm/homestead). Also I'd bet $1 that you didn't even watch the video.
I've seen them side X side. Can't justify the $ for analog. Not to mention 1 use in the daylight and they're toast.
@@6030jdr Analog are great, but these are really a *tremendous* bang for the buck.
@@6030jdr Another great advantage is that in the day time you can actually use zoomable digital NV for binoculars, and of course it is a 24/7 video recorder as well.
