you do realize kids can listen to the same thing over and over and over again? so out of those 8 billion views over almost 6 years, you have to realize the average child probably rewatch/relistened to that video AT LEAST a dozen times. Not to mention most of those were adults putting in on for their kids, considering the target audience can't read. also how do you purpose parents let their kids listen to their favourite song, since all music has gone digital.

4 videos only reached 1 billion before may 2015 (see u again release date): gangnam style, baby justin bieber, katy perry dark horse (faster than roar), taylor blank space. i remember thisvery well waka waka, lazy song, let her go, love the way you lie didnt even reach 1 billion milestone until later dates. i think the list is slightly unaccurate, uptown funk only showed up at 2017, when in 2016 its already 2 billion. crazy frog by axel f only reach billion by 2017, its on kworbnet. if you dont believe me.

its amazing to see the evolution of the videos trending on YT. started out as whatever people could upload, then into music videos for ages, now with the new style of parenting (not all but a large majority now) using TH-cam videos just to shut their kid up and make them stop annoying them. I saw it the other day in the restaurant I work in. their food was minutes from going out and the parents pull out 2 tablets and 2 phone and gave them to the kids just so they don't have to parent (4 kids). One had a keyboard and headset, playing games with his mates i think, and no when the food arrived the kids stayed on the devices. i personally find it lazy for the parents and super disrespectful and I'm only 23. rant over.
i wish i could go back in 2012 and never update lol.

It's kinda questionable that videos for little kids are the most watched ones nowadays. Back in 2015, it was unthinkable for the TH-cam community to even tolerate this kind of videos here on TH-cam (oh, good old times). I know, times change, but I still think there should be no space for kids this young (up to 6 or 7 years of age) to even be on the internet.
