I used to build hammer mills. I don't care how much torque a shredder has, it will never be as violent and destructive as a hammer mill. The ones I built used 5 AR steel plates about 6ft in diameter, with about 300 or so 7lb hammers between them. It spun at about 2.5k rpm and would pulverize blocks of clay the size of cars into dust in seconds. Insane impacts We replaced the hammers every two weeks, and reworked the plates every couple months. Shredders are cool and all, but nothing is like a big hammer mill.
