This is a much older video that I am just now publishing. We are busy filming 4-5 gameplays this afternoon and trying to maintain the daily posting schedule for 2025!
Love seeing you getting back to the reason why people liked your content. It's been a few back to back hitters and a phenomenal adjustment from the clicky titles to the actual constructive information people watch you for. Keep up this trend!
Glad to see more content. Keep it up as you can but don't burn yourself out. Take time for the family. BTW: The best grapes are dried out and covered in dark chocolate.
Appreciate the reminder! I’ll make sure not to turn into a burnt-out raisin! And dark chocolate grapes? Now that's a fundraising idea I can get behind!
12:56 i counter argument that backing a full pledge can mean paying more taxes living somewhere else. so even if you sell a game around its kickstarter price or a bit more it does not cover VAT and shipping costs. so there is a loss most of the time.
You raise a valid point! Taxes and shipping can definitely eat into profits, so it’s essential to factor those in when considering backing a campaign. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
19:02 Of course, if it is a big campaign, there could be hundreds or thousands of comments. So you expect us to go through the ENTIRE comments section and check EACH content out??
Liked this video, nice of you talk people out of the grind (but in a good and positive way). My favorite take away from this video is that all these rules apply to "most" creators. We all have our favorites, we won't talk about Poots games. I think the fact we are now talking about rules before project start date is important, this has been a new rule, but its not my killing stone. Sometimes you just want to back a company.
Ah, the eternal struggle between the heart and the checklist! Sometimes you just have to let your wallet do the talking, even if it occasionally goes rogue!
Whoa, 11 months is a long wait! Hope the expansion arrives soon and blows your socks off! I filmed the video a bit back, but these red flags are always good to keep in mind!
No, the game came 11 months ago, after a reasonable wait. The expansion was KSed last May, months after the game arrived, so the wait for that won't be too bad either.
@@Quackalopethe red flags are true. I've only been burned on one game: legends academy. I can't imagine it ever coming at this point. I really feel bad about that one
I've only had one fail which was the Hel board game. They were acquired by CMON and im supposed to be getting a free copy whenever they come around, but there's been no news. Plus i had a pledge for the all-in, which had a lot of cool extras like a separate Tafl game and i don't know if they will be handling that as well.
I am not into crowdfunding because of waiting. Its the hardest thing to do. Only two exceptions I made were new Cyclades and expansion for Pest. And its killing me to wait for arrival))))
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always good to hear from others about their crowdfunding journeys. I hope your patience pays off with some amazing rewards soon!
You're pushing out tons of content lately. It's great to see it. I'm probably going to ignore back a game, play a game... Good, sound, and logical advice... but sometimes Cathulhu death may die drops at the same time as lands of evershade and cloud spire.... and you gotta be a little illogical. By the way just curious if you didn't own any cathulhu death may die content and you saw that you can essentially get all of it right now (like in their current late pledge) what would you get? I ask because it's applicable to me directly. I have season one retail. I was thinking about getting seasons three and four along with the latest one. I think the addition of artifacts in season 4 is compelling. (One core game may be enough, im just curious about your take)
Thank you so much for your support! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and engage with my content. Regarding your question, I think picking up seasons three and four, especially with those intriguing artifacts, could definitely enhance your gameplay experience! For me - with DMD I am looking for a few things in priority order. One - New characters to play. Two - New stories to explore. Three new mechanics (could be monsters to fight) or puzzles to solve. Five Upgrades and deluxifications (like models and nice tokens). I would be confident getting most of the DMD stuff 3rd party or in retail. So focus on KS exclusive - since those items tend to hold value and often add more depth to the game overall.
These days when it comes to backing a game I look back at what I already have in the shelves and storage, board games take up so much room, and going all in is a bad idea on so many levels, creating FOMO on projects these days is one of my pet hates, I really just want to play the base game before I decided to splurge out on all the extras and expansions, I would say 9/10 times the expansions will not see the light of day, unless they go straight in the core box, which I also have a strong opinion of depending on what it is.
Totally get you! It’s like, “Chill out, FOMO!” I just want to enjoy the game without my wallet crying for mercy! Playing the base game first is the way to go for sure!
@@Quackalope A lot of the time these days I try just to get the core with stretch goals and if I like it; then on second run or retail release I'll buy the lot, I done this with Oathsworn, I got the base game, loved it and then on the second print more or less went completely all in with the rest of the stuff, I much prefer doing it that way.
Thank you for this content, I have been advised to release my stuff through kickstarter, but I'm still on the fence with that. I don't feel I'm ready yet. I just don't know yet.
It's completely normal to feel unsure before jumping into crowdfunding. Take your time to research and prepare everything you need. You'll know when you're ready!
@ very wise, I’m still wrapping my head around to launch my Patreon for terrain STL’s. I was hoping to launch in the beginning of January…but it’s not ready to my satisfaction so I think I will have to launch in February. Thank you for your comment. I enjoy your channel.
Another reason for me to not back is if there was a (1$) prepledge. Some people may like it, but to me it's an anti-consumer move and that makes me not want to back your project.
It's a predatory marketing tactic that preys upon FOMO and the fact that people are more likely to spend more money once they've already invested (any amount) of money. In other words, the "free" mini (or whatever) is the carrot and breaking a psychological barrier is the stick. Now you may or may not be susceptible to this, but a lot of people are. That is the reason they are even offering a pre-pledge.
@@Sammo212 Give us money before you give us money even though you know absolutely nothing about the project. Pre-campaign pledges are a scummy practice invented by launchboom (that they claim assists even though it's a complete lie) and I will never support a campaign that uses them.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's always valuable to hear different viewpoints, and I appreciate your honesty about what influences your backing decisions. I think the $1 pledge opens the door for some to access and buy the games when they have the cash - and at the same time can absolutely encourage a (well I am already dipping my toe in - mentality)
@@Quackalope I think the 1$ pledge option is awesome! My problem is with a 1$ (or other) pre-pledge. Paying something to get a little bonus before the crowdfunding campaign even goes live. And with that, usually without knowing anything about the game but a name and publisher.
11. Anything with the word CMON should be avoided like the plague. LoL. If you buy their products WAIT for local stores or Amazon, as they do NOT care about the Funders.
Ah, the "CMON" effect-like a warning sign for your wallet! I guess some campaigns just shouldn't be invited to the party! While I have been a fan and backer of theirs in the past - I will say they have continued to shift more and more away from their core audience.
@A.E.Konietzky the one caveat I would say is the more novelty parts of zombicide campaigns. Best thing would have been investing in Nvidia stock 5 years ago, next best thing is copies of the ninja turtles add on for zombicide 2e. Some stuff they put out appreciates like crazy.
Yes, retail boxes sometimes appear in retail before backers get their copies. However, it should be noted that retail sales actually exceed kickstarter backer product sales (both in number and revenue). Backers also get a ton of extra content that does not appear in retail. So if you only care about retail content, no, don't back their campaigns. However, it 100% not accurate to suggest that everything backers get is available in retail before backers receive it. Yes, CMON suck in many regards, but if you're inaccurate in your criticism, it comes across as the rantings of irrational haters.

Cthulhu wars was 3 years late for me so 8 months late is pretty good LOL
Haha, right? At least you got it eventually! Better late than never, I guess!

How do you not fill out your pledge manager? It's the only thing you actually need to do as a backer.
ADHD.
Seedless Red Grapes as well. Used to love the green ones, but they are always crappy where I currently live.
Seedless red grapes? Now that’s a campaign I can get behind! Just imagine a grape revolution where every grape is seedless and full of flavor!

Grape juice is overrated and spikes your blood sugar…who wants some?! 😂 Grapes are good, surprisingly even frozen!
Grape juice may have its issues, but frozen grapes? Those are the frozen heroes we didn’t know we needed!

Pressed, fermented and aged. Quack!

Haha, I get it! Not every game clicks with everyone. What’s your go-to instead?
