    I have no clue as to why the YT algorithm brought me here but I am pleased it did! I used to walk the cliff path maybe 40 years ago. As you say, it is ever changing which makes it a fascinating area to visit. Thanks for this remarkable video.

    Quite remarkable. Amazing to see the fall out from every angle. The scale of the fall is mind blowing. I’m glad you said it was a 1000 tonnes as that helps us visualise things. We can’t imagine the noise it must have made and the reverberation. Great film. Thank you

    Beautiful images & great drone work. Though the mismatch of the sound effects of crashing to the waves shown was distracting at first.. But then the music took over, which worked well with the amazing cliffs. Thank you!

    • @jpdronography1
      @jpdronography1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've not found any mis-matched sound problems, even looking at the source video file. What we did discover is when the WiFi signal is marginal, YT drops the quality to 480p and then the sound mis-matches. Perhaps this is your problem? The use of a Bluetooth sound device will also introduce delays, but this isn't in the source file and so is outside of our control.
      Thanks for your kind comment, and pleased you enjoyed it! 👍🙂

    The retreat of these cliffs has been happening since England was connected with the mainland of Europe with only a major river separating them. The geological process will continue, may hasten, may slow down, but nothing man might try will stop it. Good luck if you happen to own a few acres on this coast.

    • @jpdronography1
      @jpdronography1  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    From my childhood I remember walking at the foot of cliffs like this, and hearing the constant 'clicks and ticks' as bits of the cliff fell off and landed near me. They varied from large grains of sand to pieces the size of a pea; I was ushered away from there as quick as my parents knew how!

      I filmed outside of the mating/nesting season. That's when they become aggressive. I find only seagulls try to attack drones. No other birds in this country. Not even birds of prey can be bothered! 🦅

    Reminds me of Pacifica, CA, just south of San Francisco. The difference being that in Pacifica, many homes were built on the cliffs for the best views. Little did they know! Condos, apartment buildings and private homes, either being declared unsafe to inhabit, or already part of the ocean. Check it out!

    every time I see something like this I wonder, if the earth is as old as they say it is then why is there so much of the land mass that is still so unstable.

    • @stetomlinson3146
      @stetomlinson3146 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it's constantly being exposed to weather and climate conditions that cause erosion of the soft rocks and sand. Millions of years ago this was part of a vast desert, roughly on the Equator. It's moved North with the plates of the earths' crust. Part of the UK was joined onto mainland Europe until about 10,000 years ago, until the English Channel was formed as a land mass collapsed and the sea broke through. Millions of years ago it was part of what is now Canada, but as the plates split and pulled the continent apart, into two separate ones.

    • @jpdronography1
      @jpdronography1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny how it can be slowed down in millionaire postcode areas, such as Sandbanks though! Lot's and lots of large rocks can be laid to form a barrier. This won't work at West bay though because the falls are caused by higher rainfall amounts, not base of erosion. It would also spoil the look of the place, and it's not going to happen.

    The constant and arbitrary movement of the drone as well as "artistic" zoom and dezoom makes it impossible to appreciate what actually happened. The "after" shots show a pile of rubble -- big deal! I don't need a video to know that a cliff collapse will produce a pile of rubble at the bottom.
    I gave a thumbs-down. The music was so loud that it completely overwhelmed the natural sounds. The "dramatic Cinematic style" struck me as intrusive and greatly distracted from the ostensible subject. I am reminded of the thankfully brief period in the 1960s when videographers ruined historic concert performances with similar "dramatic Cinematic style" contrivances like feedback, saturation, solarization, and extreme closeups.
    I'm sorry to be harsh, I'm disappointed because I had hoped to be able actually compare a before-and-after view of a significant event.

      Or, you know, maybe just click off and save yourself typing a tirade 🤔🤦‍♂️

    • @jpdronography1
      @jpdronography1  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There's other drone videos on YT of this fall that have no music, in fact no sound at all as drones don't record sound. Perhaps they would suit your tastes better, more like the days of silent movies? Anyway there is no zooming either, as the drone does not have a zoom lens. It's quite a flattering reply because you obviously believe I'm a professional film maker which I am not! 🙂.
      This means YOU could do something so much better that me!👍
      YOU could:
      1. Buy a decent drone £1,500
      2. Get your licence to fly it
      3. Buy a fast computer to edit 4K video £2,500
      4. Buy another camera to record your static sounds on £350
      5. Drive to the site £45
      6. Spend 2 full days editing it together
      7. Find copyright free music that actually sounds half decent and not something generated in a child's bedroom.
      When you've done all of that, we can then hail you with over-critical comments. You'll like it though, because you will have achieved the perfect video that exactly fits to your particular requirements.
      Alternatively, I'm available for hire, so let me know what your requirement is and we can talk about price.
      The clue as to what the video contains is in the title, so there should be nothing here to disappoint!
      Many thanks for your comment 👍🙂
