I like what I’m hearing! Makes so much sense. And I love how you address the rigidity seen with medical professionals. Health issues are so much more complex than some physicians are ready to accept and understand. Need to be willing to think out of the box and consider the why. I think like you. My question is always the why. What dots could be connected that we aren’t considering. How do we track the root causes when people don’t want to deal with the complexities. So many things are typically connected on the surface but often there isn’t enough being done to find the underlying cause.
I'm so glad Dr. Neville's information resonated with you. Getting to the root is so important and if you've watched some of Dr. Neville's other videos, he talks about how this condition isn't taught in medical schools. It is so misunderstood and you're right, the why is so important! Thank you for taking the time to share your comment, I'm so glad you found Dr. Neville's channel. He will be doing a Live Q & A on Tuesday, August 1st at 3:30pm EST if you would like to come join us and ask him some questions. 🙂 Take care, Suzanne

I was diagnosed with ADD (now ADHD, inattentive type) in 2000. On and off (currently on) I have been prescribed stimulants (mostly Methylphenidate). Recently, in June 2022, I had an adrenal mass (10 cm), which was benign, removed, along with part of my left adrenal gland. Recently, in the past few months, I have had extreme difficulty waking up in the morning and am very sluggish, as well as having depression symptoms and intermittent anxiety.. I have a feeling that all three of what I am discussing in this message have interacting factors. I don't know what kind of advice that you can provide on this public platform but do you have any suggestions or pointers? Thank you.

Yes, I thought ADHD was a neurodevelopmental condition that actually meant you have chemical issues with dopamine and neurotransmitters and is usually hereditary. Is it not?
Im adhd and I've was diagnosed with a cushing syndrome 3 years ago, i had a tumor on my left subrenal, i m better now after the surgery, but my hypophyse and right subrenal are still asleep, im tired all the time..

Dr. Neville’s number one question/thought when he’s reviewing a patient’s health history and test results is: Why? He has a symptom assessment tool in his bio that may be of interest to you. ~Kim
My adhd didn’t go away after years of trauma and nervous system regulation and a relaxing life. I was still spaced out, had paralysis and was behaving and speaking different than other people. Your theory is a myth. Neurodivergence is very real. But yes burn out is part of it and it’s important to learn to regulate your nervous system.
I'm sorry you went through that. Dr. Neville didn't mean to imply neurodivergence wasn't real, so I hope we didn't offend! Absolutely regulating your nervous system, limbic system, and hormones are all part of healing. ~Jennifer
I was diagnosed formally with ADHD by 1980 when I was 12.. in 1978 at age 10 I had been diagnosed with SEVERE ANXIETY NEUROSIS. I think I got cortisol dysregulation in utero because my mum, who was an anesthesiologist in the 1960s was in a high stress job, was taking stimulants, sleeping pills, working late nights etc. and she drank and smoked.. (yay 1968!!!) she worked the day up before I was born!.. so yeah... shrugs. I was and have always had a dysregulated system.. bad. And had a horrible diet growing up and now I have diabetes and had suffered with chronic fatigue etc.. its bad again.. sigh.

What type of Doctor would I need to see to rule out Adrenaline fatigue? My family Doctor has diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome after ruling out everything else. He said there is no cure. But, he could treat the symptoms with the drugs you mentioned. I feel hopeless and alone after more than a year with this Chronic Fatigue problem.

Confused here. Is it your opinion that adult ADHD can be an illness caused by stress in adult life?
