I didn't know that there was a window dedicated to image tracing... all these years switching between limited default options like 3 colors, black and white logo, etc... man
thank you so much

Next level tutorial video !! waw
THANK GOD FOR THIS VIDEO
Perfect! I already say perfect for this tuto?
Thanks but how do we extract shapes after the trace, it appears in only 1 layer so how to distribute each shape into a separate layer?
Thanks this is so helpful. Can I straighten lines that I have drawn a bit wobbly? I can't figure out how to do that after importing the image.
You could try deleting some of the anchor points along the newly created path
@@Stickermule Oh ok I will try that. I'm so new to illustrator, I've literally been only working on it for 3 days, so I have to research everything first. Thanks for answering.
@@LizatHome no problem! :)
@@Stickermule old
Ty
That's cool and helpful except I have no idea on where the expand and save button is.....
You can get there by clicking Object > Expand. And save, by going File > Save As...
@@Stickermule sheesh
deez
The panel doesnt appear when I try and do it. Just comes up with a box that says it might take a long time due to it being a large image
Is there a way not to create a white background after tou finish using Image Tracing? the original PNG have transparent background and I am not being able to keep it that way on illustrator
Should be able to select the white background with direct select tool and then delete it.
thanks
you're welcome
My Illustrator does not have that upper bar menu to finalize. So sad, I couldn't finish the tutorial.
"Image Trace" isn't listed under the 'Window' tab.-- Am I missing something? Thanks!
If i have an all black image i traced and wanted to change the color to white how would i do that?
Expand it first then change the color of the objects you want to change. You may need to delete a few objects as well.
@@Stickermule Thank you!
image trace isn't an option on mine, is mine too old?
Mine just goes white. Everything disappears, it doesn't trace anything. I'm so confused. It's my own logo, but it's a font. I need an outline of it but I don't want to spend an hours tracing it by hand with point tool. I have tried this many times and it never forks for me. The entire image disappears.
No matter what I do, when I trace, my image just turns into a white block, even though that's not what it looked like in the preview. :(
I also don't have an "expand" button
@@ravenswood118 I'm getting a black box too. As for as to see the expand button, switch your workspace to Tracing
I dare you to try and replicate that result @0:07.
I try this and when I tried to do it on the spotify logo for school, no matter what it was not the same shape. SO ANNOYING!!
Video now inaccurate and steps no longer followable in latest version of Illustrator
I don't have a GDMF expand button! I hate Illustrator so GDMF much I wish every UI engineer that has ever worked on that product would be forced to slide naked down splintered wooden poles.
