I believe this is the best Farmtube channel on TH-cam, and I watch several. Well done production and interesting content. Now, about hefting up those heavy things to the top of the bins, two words: block and tackle. Use the power of pulleys to reduce the work so you only have a short heavy lift.

Same thing man. I had to ratchet my knee straight every morning, and once in while during the day - finally couldn't take it any longer. Surgeon took a small pizza slice out of it and been like new for 12 years or so. Nice when things work, especially your body - haha. Surgeon asked me after if I remembered waking up during the operation and taking a swing at him before I went back out. Nope - I seriously didn't. He laughed and said - every once in a while it happens. Back to normal a month or so Dougo - Do the rehab stuff as directed - the rubber band pull stuff and other weight lifting technique stuff they have you do - it is important. Be back to normal in a month of so.

Chet, it's totally amazing as to the amount knowledge you have not only mechanically, but the knowledge and skills you have on farming and knowing the business side of it all as well. Someone should be putting your name out there for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I've known guys twice your age that farmed all their lives that didn't know a 1/4 of what you do.
Any time that DougO, Randy or even your Grandfather leaves the farm they know for a fact that they can trust you with running things and doing it in a way they'd be proud of.

When you buy your new air compressor. Be sure to keep your old tank conected to increase the volume of available air before the compressor needs to run.
We did that when our old compressor went bad and with the two 80 Gallon tanks the compressor runs alot less.

Get rotary air compressor with drier work great, builds air fast and very quiet. For 25 yrs hearing old piston style compressors very noisy. With new shop has 2 rotary compressors with a/c cooled drier very quiet operation. Reason for 2 of them because of shop having DPF cleaner. Rotary compressor somewhat like supercharger on your truck. Only problem they're on pricey side.

As far as the air compressor goes, you need at least an 80 gallon tank and a larger 2 stage compressor. 2 or 3 cylinders preferable. That way you will have more cfm and about 150 to 175 lbs of line pressure.

Wear plugs and ditch the screwcomp! We ditched it for a 125 2 stage and we’ll never go back!

Chet a quick fix to not over inflating truck tires is to have an air hose for the truck tires on a pressure regulator set to the pressure you set.

Ok so, I watch another farm channel that's a cattle farmer in South Dakota and one of their commentors claimed dir farmers don't work as hard now during calving season.
I grew up in a small Michigan farm town all dirt farmers and I can tell you thry work just as hard year round.
    Both types of farms.
Especially these days as complicated tractor upkeep has become because of all the computer and sensors systems in them.
Plus so many other modern systems that requires near constant maintenance.
It's definitely entertaining watching the Larson Farms crew working to keep their farm producing crops.
