Hawaii native Bruno Mars is like a modern day Michael Jackson but in my opinion...better.
Bruno’s range is a lot broader than Michael’s was in his later days as Michael lost a lot of his strength through the years. But Bruno has been able to maintain his voice and has a much bigger sound.
Bruno came from a musical family and got his start VERY young. At age 4, Bruno joined his family’s band “The Love Notes” and performed with them 5 days a week.
After graduating high school, Mars moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career. He eventually signed on with Atlantic Records and created a production team called The Smeezingtions which has gone on to produce a string of hits for other artists as well as himself.
Not only is Bruno a hugely talented singer and songwriter but he is also a multi-instrumentalist. He and Adele are the only artists to ever have a number-one song that only featured piano and vocals.
He has gone on to sell over 200 million singles and 26 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He’s also been nominated for 14 Grammy’s.

@@kentamplin bro, should remind you that brunos performances was almost standing, sitting, or dancing a little while MJ is performing his songs while dancing, walking, jumping but still sounds pretty in pitch and good. And MJ's songs are not the same as brunos where you can show off your vocal abilities. MJs songs were fast to perform too compared to Brunos. Theres nothing much to show your vocal abilities in MJ's songs

And sometimes his lives are better then his recorded version because he changes it up a bit which is amazing

Ken once again spot on , Bruno has nice beautiful resonance and has that similar passion as MJ . I think MJ made so so much money early on that he stoped building his voice -imagine if MJ built a strong ken tamplin chest/ mid voice he would be the king of everything not just pop. Mj we love you -Bruno and Ken Tamplin are best singers now.
You are spot on with your MJ comparisons. I said the same thing the first time I heard him. His style is not exactly my preferred style, but the dude is crazy good! He likes performing much more than recording.... That's why his tour was sooooo long... Would really love if her records more.... He have records to break...

To create something that sticks to the people instead of dropping every year takes a long time. Plus the touring he does every year isn't him taking a break. His break is probably writing the next album lol.
He’s a chill guy. And he’s made some pretty 🔥 tunes so if he wants to take a break I feel like he’s earned it. Besides he never disappoints, well at least not me...

I love Bruno Mars!!! Uptown funk was something different from his norm, but I loved it. Bruno has a phenomenal vocal sound and I cannot believe that he was actually almost overlooked. It shouldn’t surprise me because there is so much Rall talent out there that is undiscovered and then comes along someone with virtually no talent at all who becomes famous. Carrie Underwood is fabulous and she was virtually unheard of before she was on American idol.
You just KNOW that dude is working hard to sound SO GOOD and calm and cool and composed and confident out there.. amazing pitch control .. always impressed with Bruno's voice .. great vid.. and we can never forget ALL THE YOUNG DUDES.. classic!

i have seen him live back on his jungle tour… gorilla was insane to see live! That was the favorite song that he did that night, and every song was 🔥🔥🔥
Lots of respect for him, I walked away from that concert saying how is it possible for someone to sound better than their recordings?
He might have stronger high notes, but MJ had a very balanced register from top to bottom. Human nature ‘till this day has the most beautiful low notes that a pop song can have ( taking into consideration the type of voice MJ Gad) and I think people tend to overlook that.

Bruno Mars was the first singer I started to actually follow as a fan when I was 11. He completely changed my point of view in music. I became more curious instead of just hearing what's on the radio. I am not afraid of experimenting new styles of music and looking for older stuff. He and his whole band are amazing performers and thanks to them I grow my passion for music to the point where I wanted to actually know more about it and I decided to start studying music for real. I'm not saying he's the best in the world but he's still got a big influence on my path as a musician.

Sadly I feel like Michael Jackson didn’t use his vocal abilities enough. He never really use any crazy runs with his singing voice. He kept it carefully under control and sometimes put a little too much breaths in there. An example would be Man in the Mirror. And that’s not me saying that Michael Jackson’s a bad singer, on the contrary. I just find that Bruno is using his voice far more than what Michael did. Michael’s vibrado in You Are Not Alone was great.

As a Greek this made me laugh so hard. No αρχίδια (Greek for balls)! OMG, I’m so lucky I wasn’t drinking when I watched this cos I’d have lost my drink. I did not expect you to know this. For me Bruno Mars together with George Michael (May he Rest In Peace) and Sam Smith are the best male singers I’ve ever had the enormous pleasure to listen to. They have/had perfect pitch. I can always hear when someone’s pitchy (me included) and it drives me nuts. I always thought everybody was able to tell but realized when I grew up that some can and others can’t. Love your vids. He does write all of his own music with a group of writers he created. And he writes for other musicians.
He writes to tour with his band, very live heavy. 2 singles out now both amazing. In ears are a big problem live as he's used to working without and you're relying on someone else and what they feed you. Should chancing out BBC Live Lounge. He sings the song 'All I Ask' that he wrote with Adele. She's alto so he sings it his way in her key. He did the tribute for Amy, after she pass away.

hahahaha I'm Greek and never saw the "no arhidia" coming up, though you're totally right...I find Bruno's range stunning for a man, I could only wish to attain some counter tenor qualities with my voice but maybe one day I'll make it. Only just discovered I'd been pitching myself from female voices, thus thinking my voice could go really high...turns out I'm between a baritone and a tenor. Ken thanks for yet another amazing video!

When MJ puts his time recording a song, he sounds better than anyone to me. Lot of people can sound better live and hit the highest notes but still.. MJ all the way.

Hi Ken. Thanks for this and interestingly Sam Johnson reacted to the same vid a couple of months ago but voiced his concerns with Bruno's voice. It is great to see two different views as I don't mind listening to Sam, depending on who's he is reacting to.
