Am Puerto Rican my grandma show me how to cook sometimes by scratch am 59 yrs old my grandma pass about almost 30 yrs.and i m miss her.she took me from 5 yrs old til 19 yrs old but i learn from the best.

*Bubbe's Apple Kugel* _for Pesach_ ¤ Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit ¤ Quarter 3 Matzah sheets and soak in water, making sure all of it gets wet. ¤ 1/2 cup Sugar ¤ 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon ¤ 2 TBS. Margarine or Butter, melted in the microwave and left in glass measuring cup. (Vegetable oil may also be used) ¤ 3 eggs ¤ 1/2 tsp fresh lemon zest ¤ 4-6 baking apples, thinly sliced (reserve 12 slices for the top) *¤{Instructions}¤* ¤ Remove matzah from water, squeezing out the water. Leaving it moist, not wet. ¤ Beat the eggs and pour into the moistened matzah. ¤ Add lemon zest, sugar and cinnamon and the margarine/butter or vegetable oil. ¤ Add Apple slices and mix well. ¤ Line an 8x8 pan with aluminum foil and add mixture to pan; making sure that you spread mixture out to all corners. ¤ Add remaining apple slices on top for a more pleasant appearance. ¤ Bake 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Was looking for a few new Passover recipes as I lost my cookbooks in a flood a few years ago. In my online searches this year, I learned that most kugel is not made with matzah. Not sure why… I make mine standard Passover kugel like this, but I also add raisins and nuts. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Babbe..I’ve just stumbled over your cooking show you have bought so much memories flowing back for me..I used to nurse at a Jewish Nursing Home for 19 yrs it was like my second home..I love learning the culture and listening to stories also picked up speaking Jewish from my work colleagues and my residents..I am retired now but miss everything about the Jewish people..I love you your so sweet and I’m loving your cooking segments keep in good health Bubbe ❤️
