Hyundai Commission: Cecilia Vicuña: Brain Forest Quipu is now on view at Tate Modern in London!
As a part of the seventh annual Hyundai Commission Chilean artist poet Cecilia Vicuña presents two monumental new sculptures in the Turbine Hall.
This multi-part exhibition brings together different strands of Vicuña’s practice including her pioneering work with the Andean tradition of the quipu. It is an act of mourning for the destruction of the forests, the subsequent impact on climate change, and the violence against Indigenous people.
