Are houses in Canada cheap or something? How did both Woolie and Pat manage to buy a home in 2023? I'm over here in America around their age and maybe I can buy a house in 10-20 years if everything goes well.
Streamers make decent money if they're even mildly successful. It also helps having a dedicated community. Most just don't flex because it's tasteless.
The opposite actually. They're absurdly expensive and you need to make almost six figures to afford one. The housing market is a nightmare in both Canada and the US since the market has been growing at a unsustainable rate, but it hasn't popped yet like it did in 2008. Woolie probably just threw his hands up in the air and got what he could afford and will refinance his house one the bubble pops. They talk about it in this clip, but other factors such as property tax and foreign influence are making the market an absolute nightmare for non-homeowners.
I know little about Canada and their housing market but it sounds like they both had to move to get a house. Woolie even made a joke about several busses and a mountain to hike for Reggie to get there of course that doesn't mean much but I can only guess that it is like moving to the middle states in the United States. House prices drop a bit depending on where you go. But also, I know for some states has incredibly help for people buying their first home. I can't imagine Canada wouldn't also have a similar system. Also we don't know how much debt he took on to get this or how much his Wife makes as well to ensure this house.
@@BottomShelfGames I don't know where Woolie moved so I cant speak on that but as someone from Vancouver myself, Pat moved to one of the most expensive cities in North America, B.C doesn't have good incentives either. Pat wouldn't be eligible for tax deductions since he didn't live here prior and I think he makes too much for the new 2023 incentive. Encouraging people to move here isn't a problem anyway, If anything we are trying to stop foreign investment properties similar to Montreal with vacant property taxes, I’m still closer to Alpha Centuri than I am buying a house.
