wonderful tutorial, thank you! for those who want to give it a try and, like me, are newbies on jewelry crafting: my first pair was all crooked and loose at certain points. the second one was better. and the third pair came out just perfect! don't give up! :)
Excellent tutorial, I have not made jewelry like this but really wanted to try it, all the tutorials I have seen were so difficult that I was frustrated to try it, but your tutorial is very easy to follow thank you and now I am pulling beads out with thread and making earrings!!! Look forward to more tutorials. Thank you
@Hannah Hejl This video will walk you through how to tie off and weave in your ends in bead weaving. www.beadaholique.com/t-video-How-to-Tie-Off-and-Add-New-Thread-in-Bead-Weaving.aspx
Thank you for taking the time & patience to show us how to make earrings. I am just starting out and I think I better give this one some time and stick to what I know now. I will subscribe and 'favorite' this video when I'm ready. I really want to make something like this for my wife in the near future......Angel from the Bay
I made a pair on the earrings turned out wonderful. I switched the colors i did a crystal twisted bugle bead, gold bead were you put your crystal bead and a purple bead were you did the silver bead. i have gotten so many complements on them.
We get a lot of requests for written instructions from our bead weaving videos. Unfortunately, bead weaving techniques are very difficult to explain without visual aid. We do them as videos because we feel that this is the best way to give clear, easy to follow instructions. There are many available online, you might want to try doing an internet search to see what you can find. Good luck :)
ive made earnings similar to this when i was in Montana. my teacher was a Native American "cant remember what tribe" the way she tough me there was no need to tie any knots. i had a lot of fun making them and i miss making them as well.
I love this tutorial. I also love the fact that you have informational links where you can get all the materials needed for the projects. I wish all tutorials from others had the same links/information. Thanks so much! I am always looking forward to your tutorials! All the best!
This is a very nice demonstration. I used to make kandi creations and since learning that first this actually doesn't seem too hard at all. Seems kinda similar.
soo cool!! I have never tried this before but now I'm really interested in it... very clear instructions!! except u skipped the part where you tied offs, but I'll find it in some other vid..., now all I gotta do is figure out the execution!!
Making a necklace using the bugle bead row with brick stitch above could definitely be done, but it would take some experimentation and design work, so I can't tell you exactly how without designing a new project. You could try making the fringe into one long connected piece as a starting direction.
You Give Amazing Instruction, and your video is Very Clear and descriptive. I am a beginner & this very Helpful! However, after completing a Beautiful top-half, I ran short on thread & had to dig up your video on how to tie-off. Don't think I ever want to make that mistake again. :)
It sounds like you might be using seed beads that are too large for your bugle beads. If you look in the video description, you can find links to the exact materials I use in the video.
Your instructions are so very clear! Thank you for this great tutorial! My friend and I are making these and they are turning out beautifully, thank you again!

I just want to say that I found your project for earrings through pinterest and not only found the tutorial very useful but also this brick stitch and both were excellent and very helpful. Thank you for posting them.
You definitely need to tie a knot or else your thread will pull loose. Make sure you're using a thin thread like NYMO and a small size 12 beading needle, and it should fit just fine in the size 3 bugle beads.
@Jackie Oh - No, these were done with a single thickness of thread. Doubled thread would be bulky in the fringe and might keep it from swinging freely.
Deirdre Powers The thread is size D. You can get the supplies featured in our videos on Beadaholique.com's website. The links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video. Fringe Festival Earrings www.beadaholique.com/t-ba-project-E1046.aspx?TH-cam&
Awesome! I just completed an earring, which is my second attempt -first one i couldn't get the last bead on the brick stitch. And my second attempt I ran out of thread and had to add some length on the fourth fringe. Going to attempt a whole pair another day with long enough thread hopefully but just wanted to say thank-you for creating this video :)
@The Native Gamer - You can find the list of the supplies in this video here: www.beadaholique.com/t-ba-project-E1046.aspx?TH-cam& and here: www.beadaholique.com/t-ba-project-E1045.aspx?TH-cam& Also the links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video.
@Rebecca Mount - Hi, you do not start by tying it off, you start your stitch but make sure to leave a tail of at least 6 inches. Then when you are all done you go back and thread a needle onto that tail, tie a knot, and weave in the tail. Bead Weaving 101: Getting Started with Off-Loom Bead Weaving www.beadaholique.com/s-2209-bead-weaving-101-getting-started-with-off-loom-bead-weaving.aspx?TH-cam&
I have always loved these kinds of earnings but I thought they would be too hard to make, it takes a while usually to catch on to the instructions however this was easy for me this time around. Thank you for sharing. I am going to make a fair few for family and friends. :)
It doesn't hurt to try, although for this particular project we suggest using nylon beading thread in order for the fringe to hang and dangle smoothly.
Thank you very much for your wonderful tutorials! This earings very pretty good! After 4 hours I have made it! I like it so much! Super! Super! Super! :)
Miyuki Delica beads are cylindrical seed beads that are extremely uniform in size and shape. Toho seed beads are also very uniform, but they are a round seed bead. The cylinders have flat sides and the rounds have curved sides. Delicas give a very solid woven surface because the flat sides lay flush, where as the round seed beads have a little bit more space between them. The Delicas are also a slightly different size scale, and are a little bit smaller than standard size 11/0 seed beads.
You could make both top portions before you get to the fringe part, and then just run the strands back and forth between the two bugle bead bases, making the middle part as long as you need it. I will put the video on our request list.
You could do that, if you like the way it looks. It would definitely give more of a dull edge. But if you don't like the look of that, you can definitely do it this way, just be careful when you tighten your threads.
I'm not sure why they'd be doing that. My only suggestion would be to make sure that your tension is firm but not too tight and that you're using the same size beads that I did so that the rows align properly.
Your video and explanations are really well done, thank you. Can you explain how you tied off the nylon thread at the very end? Looks like the video skipped that part at 15:47. Also which video shows how to add thread in case you run out?
Hi, i have made these earings and they are really lovely. The only problem that i have had with them is trying to get the jump ring through the toho bead. The jump ring must be very thin!! please can you tell me what size (thickness of the wire) you used. Thank you.
It doesn't hurt to try, although if you are going to use seed beads for the ladder stitch in this particular project keep in mind it will alter the design and may not finish as well as you see in the video.
I thought this was a very detailed tutorial, and bought the suggested materials. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to start my base of bugle beads, because the nylon thread kept breaking. I was being gentle. When I was too gentle the base was loose and looked awful. Definitely suggest getting a stronger thread or fireline if using bugle beads!
These earrings are so pretty. I'll be using what I have on hand to make them. Since I don't have any nice long bugle beads, couldn't I do square stitch for a few rows before moving onto brick stitch?
I love the earrings now can you tell me how to make a matching bracelet with both ends as brick stitch and long rows in between. would love to see a video on this. Thanks
What thread did you use? You need a soft thread like NYMO or KO in order to get the fringe to hang correctly. If that's what you used, then yes, you may have pulled the fringe too tightly.
Technically, seed beads will work. However, keep in mind that the look of the earring will change, so you may wish to experiment and see which you prefer.
lovely tutorial, thank you. i made my earrings using fishing line for the brick stitch and sewing thread for the fringes. fishing line made the base more sturdy :P

Hello! I adore these...absolutely classic and so lovely! Im brand new to bead weaving so i hope you will be able to answer this (i cant seem to find the answer elsewhere). at section 4 and section 5 (which is part of the fringe) how can i/we weave those sections together so that they, section 4 and 5, are part of the 'solid, none fringe' part?...meaning that the actual 'fringe' begins at section 6 and below. yes this would mean less 'movement' but it would give an additional look to the earring. can you advise me please? I would most appreciative as to what type of stitch to accomplish that goal with. or is there an example i havent found that you have in another tutorial perhaps? many many thanks!

Wow - they are really beautiful - I know what to add to my Christmas list!! Nice work! And thank you :)
It could be, yes. I experimented and found that I needed to use a thread with a softer drape to get my fringe to hang straight. Try using NYMO.
This is nice to try on. Thank you for sharing
wow! this is awesome, I'm going to try it for sure
I'm not familiar with C-Lon thread, so I can't say if it would work. NYMO is a good basic nylon beading thread, and you could also use KO.

Hi, I've tried making this type of earring a few times. I make sure I pull the thread tight when adding the fringe, but not to where it bunches the beads up. issue. I would try pulling the thread a little tighter on the fringe and
