Having old-timey music just randomly start playing outside your house in the middle of the night is so terrifyingly cliche I sort of love it. Can’t imagine how unsettling that would be in real life.
That song has always scared me since I was a little girl because a lady in my street played it at Halloween and I was so scared because the older ones were jumping out on us!🤭 I do agree that hearing it at night would be terrifying!🥰
A similar thing happened to me once several years ago (at my parents' house). I heard strange music playing in the woods behind my backyard, so I took a super-bright flashlight that I had recently bought and shone it into the woods where the music was coming from. Upon not seeing anything, I knew I had to get some height advantage because no way in hell was I going near whatever or whoever was playing the music. I climbed a tree and shone the light around the woods, and then I saw it. A small Bluetooth speaker, with what I only assume was a human crouched low beside it. He saw me and looked directly up at me, but he was wearing a hoodie and a mask, so I wasn't able to see much. He quickly turned off the music, with a hand that made me question whether he really was human, and he slinked back into the cave he was sitting outside of. I hadn't realized there were any caves or large holes in the ground on the property, nor had I been told of any recent ones (as I loved exploring them), so I immediately called the police and told them the strange story. They didn't believe me, but they came to check it out anyway. I was still in the tree, as I was too afraid of what might be in that hole to come down, but when the police arrived, they checked the cave and there was nothing there. That cave was barely even deep enough for an officer to fit inside fully, much less whatever that thing was. And they didn't find it or any sign of it being there. No speaker, no marks, no back door, no rocks sealing off an exit, nothing. I went to bed that night and slept alright, but the next morning I was determined to figure out how that thing disappeared like that. I went to the exact location of the cave, which I vividly remembered, and there wasn't a cave there anymore. No wonder I hadn't heard anything about it. There was a small face on the ground with the stereotypical "childly dead" look, with the tongue out and X'ed out eyes, but that was it. It was flat ground in a small clearing, with not even leaves disturbed. I took a drug test later that day, and found out I hadn't been high on anything, and I couldn't determine what could have caused such a hallucination, cause I asked my parents if they heard or saw anything and they said no, but I asked my neighbors the same and they said they saw something running through the woods later in the night and they also heard the music. It was a strange experience and I'm not entirely sure how to justify it, but I thought it strange based off the evidence. We never found out what it was, why it was playing the music, or anything like that. I slept extremely well the night I got back to my house.
In story #1 Old timey or any cheery music that's supposed to be a happy and joyful melody is ALWAYS terrifying when played out of context. Bit cliché, but just unsettling when you're just home alone at night, chilling and then the "I love you" song from barney just started playing from somewhere in your house that's in complete darkness and I'm now just rambling about that prank my sister pulled on me when I was 8. 😐
i'd say it would have to be from the out of place-ness. you're not supposed to have fun goofy silly times at two in the morning. that's when you sleep. and bad stuff can happen in night
My older sister had a winnie the pooh that spoke when we were really young. The toy box stayed in my room in the closet. We all forgot about it for a while , then one night while I was sleeping, I heard something start talking. I thought I was dreaming at first , but when I recognized pooh's voice I was like "Oh, Sissy must be watching t.v." When I fully came awake, I realized it was coming from my closet . When I tell you u screamed so loud I woke the neighbours.... my mom thought I was being kidnapped. But seriously , I've been terrified of dolls ever since.
@@k0chana6 I mostly hear people become terrified of dolls because of chucky or annabelle, but winnie the pooh? i can imagine you screaming bloody murder from that.
My cousins and I were staying at my grandparents house. The youngest (a baby) had a tickle me Elmo doll. In the middle of the night, my 2 other cousins (around my age) & I decided to get a midnight snack. Once we got back to our beds, the elmo doll went off randomly.
This is why you need a gun, and why you don't trust anyone. Would have loved to hear that same story but the homeowner ambushes and takes them all out on the 2nd night.
The moment I heard Waycross GA I started laughing. That place puts the I in Shithole. Lot of bodies turn of up, some that are people who’ve been missing for years. If you ever get the chance to visit, don’t.
The visuals are getting better and better. It’s nice knowing that you take the time to match the visuals better. They’re higher quality, paced well, and it really enhances the story. Thank you!
I can’t believe how many years this dude has made awesome content. It all started with Chuck E. Cheese..y’all remember that one? Edited to clarify, this was the first creepy pasta of @Mr. Nightmare’s that I heard, not the first one he made. Also, thank you for the likes.
That one was creepy. But there were 2 chuck E cheese ones. The one that scared me was the animatronic chuck turning its head and looking at the worker that was closing the place by himself. And the next morning he asked management if its normal for it to turn its head and look at whatever is moving around them and he replied "no its not motion sensor and shouldn't be moving " instant chills for me
The thought of being in bed sleeping late at night and then hearing old fashioned, vintage, static music is actually pretty terrifying, Reminds me of Tiny Tim's song, Tiptoe Through the Tulips being heard in the Insidious movies. 2:50 yep, just as I thought
@@jonathandeleon5588 I’m soft for saying I’d be scared of something pretty much most people would be too? Ok, If that’s what your weird thinking wants you to believe, that’s ok with me
I liked these stories! I'm glad the victims were safe in them! I did not know this was part 2. It's scary how there are break-ins! There's no guarantee that your house is fully protected from intruders.
That 2nd story- Omg! So terrifying! I suffered a home invasion while home alone some years ago. I awoke to the sound of glass breaking. I then saw a hand searching for the latch, & trying to open the door by turning the doorknob. This was a nightmare come true. Lucky I had the presence of mind to grab the keys to the front doors and RUN FOR IT. I made it out just in time before he kicked the door in & entered. It was winter but I just managed to put my slippers on & ran in my nightie. I went to a neighbour's home & called the cops. They came & arrested him. He trashed my home. We moved out after that. I never feel too safe in any place after that, up till now & doubt I ever will 100%. This deeply disturbed my psyche. These home invasions can affect a person emotionally for life. I improved a lot over time but it will never be quite the same serenity I had in my sleep as before this occurrence. Btw my next door neighbour was sure I was dead meat already. Despite being a woman, I never give up and do whatever I have to, to get out of that situation in order to save myself. And I did!
With that last story, I would legit go to the cop car and say "hey, I know this is technically illegal, but I went in the backdoor of that foreclosed house and heard a noise upstairs, so could you go check it out? Thanks". In most states, there are good Samaritan laws paired with explorers laws, which allow for arrests to be withheld on the account of safety checks and things exactly like that story. Say, for instance, you think someone is taking up residence illegally in a building. As long as you use an unlocked door (or, depending on the state, a window), and you find evidence someone has been living there, they often won't charge you for anything, even though you were breaking and entering.
And call the bank that foreclosed. They'll have the sheriff out there ASAP to ensure your house is cleared out, I bet. Depending on local factors of course.
Story #1: What'd we learn? If you hear old eerie sounding music coming from the woods....come strapped. And at the LEAST when somebody tells you to run. RUN!
TURN TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST BEFORE ITS TOO LATE, GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND START WALKING IN OBEDIENCE, WITHSTANDING FROM ALL SIN AND WICKEDNESS, JESUS SAID THE PATH TO HEAVEN IS HARD AND NARROW, AND FEW FIND IT. It's good to have you back posting more consistently again. I'm glad you had a break. It was probably much needed. We love you and we'll always wait whenever you need to take some time off. Life is stressful for everyone sometimes.
If someone is screaming run and you're already in a sketchy situation and you ask why and don't run, you deserve every bad thing that happens after that for being so stupid.
I agree but also I could see my dad doing that 😭 like the man’s an electrical engineer for the Navy but I kinda envision a lot of guys being a bit too cocky in situations like those
Listening to these stories make me so happy I live in a condo downtown with security doors, night management, biometric elevator access, and cameras . I don’t think I’d ever live in a house for fear of not knowing what is going on outside. I’m also a big supporter of the 2A, we are so fortunate to have that right.
@@poopieinmybuthole3379 It really is a shame that there are so many lunatics going around with AR-15s right now. Many did not acquire them legally, but many also did. I'm not really in favor of a mental health exam being required, because the people doing the exam will always have a bias because we're human, and references can backfire if they just don't like applicant for whatever reason. The only solution I see is that more people need to carry legally. If just one teacher in those schools had a gun, just the knowledge of it would deter so many would-be school attackers. Poor mental health is just the scientific term for a hardened and calloused heart and a loving of wickedness. Being able to defend oneself and family is a God-given right. It's hard when any person who has the tools to do that could go south real quick too.
hah.. that's my old house. Over a dozen staff guarding the complex at all times, elevator could be accessed by anyone but there was an electric fence surrounding the place, and there were atleast 2 thousand people living in there so i wouldn't be alone at any point. Cameras everywhere. parents still own it, but i'm in a different country. Now i live in a basement in what is considered a less ideal neighbourhood... And it still costs like 10 times more than what my old house was worth when we bought it... love vancouver lol
I was 16 when I moved to a new house. Everything seemed perfect, it was closer to my school, close to a park, and was 3 stories. My parents picked the room near the living room because there were only two rooms upstairs. My sister picked the bigger room, and I picked the smaller room that had a bathroom, and a door that led to a staircase, that led to the roof. This will be relevant to the story. One day I came home from school and was really tired and just wanted to sleep. It was a Friday and so parents work late and my sister was at a friend's house. I was home alone and liked it that way. As I mentioned before my parents chose the room that was in the living room, I slept there because it was closer than my room. I fell asleep for four hours and was awoken out of nowhere. So I watched some TV for a while and later when I got hungry I was about to go get some food. That's when I heard something from the living room fall. Casually I opened the door, expecting it to be my sister or my parents, but I saw a unknown man dressed in all black, creeping around my house and shoving things in a bag. I don't know how, but thankfully he didn't hear me open the door, or the TV Playing in the background. I closed the door and called my parents and police. Police arrived and arrested a man, he didn't take much but he had a kitchen knife, supposedly as his weapon. Police said he most likely entered because the door that led to the roof was unlocked Don't know how he reached the second floor, but it still scared me. Who knows what he would have done to me if he had heard me.
Guy in story 1: gets harrassed by sick guy with creepy music in the middle of the night Also that guy, outside his house at night and was told by his wife to run: WHY WHATS THE MATTER????? You can't fix stupid......
YES! This is my favorite topic! I love moving horror stories. As someone one who hates where I live and has a desire to move and start over somewhere new… something about moving horror stories is just so interesting and satisfying
Just remember, no matter where you go - there you are. It's the same stuff everywhere, just with a different coat of paint. Good luck wherever you may roam.
@@jenx5870 yea I know. I don’t wanna move for horror reasons. I just hate the town I live in. I hate my small community in southeast Kansas. I’m saving up to move away and start over somewhere new
@@1b.hendoo That's what I am saying, though. No matter where you go, you are still you. You bring all the same baggage, so if you're trying to start over because you're trying to run away from problems, it starts from within first. Big cities just bring bigger problems. I totally understand the desire to get away from where you come from. That's why I said what I did. My totally unsolicited advice would be to figure out what you are hoping to find before you move. What sort of fresh start? A place where no one knows you because you're bullied? Boredom? A better career? Figure out what you need ahead of time because there is a saying: you can never go home again. What that means is, once you leave somewhere, the people there go about their lives and move on. Things change, and it will always be different than when you left. You can't get back what you lost when you left. So if you change your mind down the road and move back, everything will be different. You want to make sure that you are getting away for the right reasons, and not for something that is easily fixed by communicating with family or by counseling instead of moving away. Small towns are personal and safe. Big cities are impersonal and dangerous. Stay away from LA. I lived there, and it's a cesspool (sorry to anyone who still lives there), but it's only gotten worse. I have horror stories about that place. I don't know your political leanings, so I don't know which states to tell you about. For pure beauty and safety (from what I remember) southern Oregon - Grants Pass and below is nice. Texas, but I have a bias for my state and will never leave it again. My family is here. I hope you're happy no matter where you end up.
Finally, stories that r actually creepy. Even slightly unique compared to the usual plot where driver delivers to an isolated house and gets chased down by a deranged man w/ an axe. Thank you!
The most disturbing thing I've ever encountered in a new house is a creepy, cobwebbed filled basement, an old looking tape recorder and some flesh covered book called the Necronomicon or something. I think I'll gave that a read sometime.
That first story was something else. My wife and I would've just sighted in on that radio through a scope instead of going out there. Then took it out. I think that would be enough of a signal to the three out there, that we aren't to be messed with. 😁
Wow, first story is in my town. There's a lot of woods and swamp in our town, makes everything a bit creepy. Sorry you guys had a bad first start here, hope it gets better and you all enjoy your stay here.
@@ClivonBarris Yeah, GA is a constitutional carry state now so no permit required either. In that area especially, you won't look out of place carrying there, speaking as someone who grew up very close to Waycross (the town in Story 1).
I love you Mr nightmare I’ve been watching since your OG vids like Chuck E Cheese creepy pasta and the original don’t let strangers into your house video with the old lady thumbnail. Thank you for the consistency. I wish there was somewhere we could see the old/archived content
Story 2: “experiencing a home invasion is something you always hear about on the news, but never assume it would actually happen to you”, is something I cannot relate to. Especially since I started watching Mr. Nightmare. Not only do I assume people might try to break into my house, I assume they’ll attack me on trails, or try to sneak into my car, or live in my walls. I’ve already decided I’ll never buy a house next to the woods, and I never leave a single window unlocked… Honestly I don’t leave anything that has a lock unlocked anymore. These videos have prepared me for the craziness out there. I don’t live my life in fear though, I do all the things I want to do for the most part, but I do them with my eyes open. Thanks to these videos, I have a level of situational awareness that I never would have otherwise. I never assume things can’t happen to me anymore.
Have you ever done restaurant horror stories ? Or like scuba horror stories ? I wonder how many people might have good ones . Keep up the great work , Always Impressed with how you find new stuff all the time
tiptoe through the tulips has always been creepy af, but insidious really added a creep factor to it. i would NOT want that playing in my backyard at night
I've been watching Mr. Nightmare since I was in third grade. It makes me happy he's stayed consistent and true to the same formula, and that he's uploading so much more now.
Just moved into my new house. Since I’ve watched all Mr. Nightmares videos, I knew better. I checked the attic and crawl space before I moved in and again after I moved in just to be sure.
I just moved in with some friends of mine and they work third shift so I'm usually in the house alone and it's dark as hell, and I'm watching this, just adds to the fear factor
Mr.Nightmare is by far the greatest TH-camr I've ever seen. The way he narrates horror stories makes Stephen King look average. His stories make me feel so happy and relieved from stress. Keep up the hard work man.

Absolutely love listening to your stories when I'm driving. Can you organise your videos into playlists so the scary true stories are easier to locate?
Great story Mr. Nightmare. I'm from Waycross GA and there is absolutely something in the swamp. Mysterious things has happen. Alot of ppl has seen apparitions and thing creep back into the woods as they drive down a road going towards Obediahs. No one dares to go in those woods at night.
The first story creeped me out so much and here's why... Before I clicked on this video, someone was playing very loud music (in their car, I assume) outside of my apartment. I remembered I didn't watch Mr. Nightmare's new video yet, so I put in my earbuds to drown out the music from outside and tuned into the first scary story of the video...which ended up being about loud music being played outside of a house. I'm uncomfortable with the energy created in the studio today...
The first person made thier story sound extra unbelievable by adding the fact that they asked, "why", when thier wife is screaming for them to run. The majority of people run first, ask questions later.
I love how I'm watching creepy videos at 2:04 in the morning when I can distinctly remember that when I first started watching MrBallen (the person who made me interested in criminology and the paranormal) last November, I was SO TERRIFIED I couldn't even be in a room by myself past 6:00!!!!!!! That desensitization is hilarious...
out of all the stories i've heard on this channel, the first one is the scariest. like literally horror movie material. i felt absolutely terrified for the husband and wife.
I recently discovered this channel and now am on a Mr Nightmare marathon. Love the stories keep them coming! Also I don't have the courage to use the bathroom Or get out of my bed
8:41 Why do people never assume that anything can and will happen to them. I always assume anything can happen and might happen, that's why I prepper for what can happen, like I have pepper spray on me everyday, and my conceal carry on me, Im always alert to my surroundings, check on the back of the drivers seat if someone is hiding, and double check all my windows, doors and any crawl spaces that intruders can use to get inside my house.

I thought I was dreaming at first , but when I recognized pooh's voice I was like "Oh, Sissy must be watching t.v."
When I fully came awake, I realized it was coming from my closet .
2 weeks ago I had taken a handful of mushrooms and someone in my apartment complex “accidentally” connected to my Bluetooth speaker playing opera
I really enjoy listening to these stories and don’t get really freaked out by them. But that first story was very unsettling and creeped me out😳
Same! Something about it gave me literal chills 😬 he did a great job with the music to really help picture the story setting.
You all should look up the Tiny Tim song referenced. Lol! Truly horrific.
It was probably just some scumbag teens messing with them lmao
This is why you need a gun, and why you don't trust anyone. Would have loved to hear that same story but the homeowner ambushes and takes them all out on the 2nd night.
The moment I heard Waycross GA I started laughing. That place puts the I in Shithole. Lot of bodies turn of up, some that are people who’ve been missing for years. If you ever get the chance to visit, don’t.
I don't know why I watch these by myself on the nightshift at work in this big ass building but I love it.

Also, thank you for the likes.
ogs remember
yup!

I liked these stories! I'm glad the victims were safe in them! I did not know this was part 2. It's scary how there are break-ins! There's no guarantee that your house is fully protected from intruders.
9mm is a good deterent
Yeah baffles me some people I know don't even lock their doors
And I did!
I'm sorry you went through that 😥
Good job making it out, I am glad you are safe and hopefully well.

I remembered I didn't watch Mr. Nightmare's new video yet, so I put in my earbuds to drown out the music from outside and tuned into the first scary story of the video...which ended up being about loud music being played outside of a house.
