Thanks for the comment Jeff. This isn't the outback, the outback doesn't have any tall trees, it's mostly just sparsely spaced scrub. I'm sure you'll love Australia, but if you're going into the outback go with someone who knows what they're doing. People die out there.
You mean to say there are large trees left in our forests, better cut them down before someone notices them. Hahahaha nice tower Steve just what I would like in my back yard, oooh I forgot it is in my back yard.Hahaha
Cheers Steve! Great to see you back again, hope you got rid of the critters! Happy holidays!, Merry Xmas and Happy New Year Mate! de Andy SV1DKD (and yes Callum is a blast!)
Unfortunately there are labels on the equipment inside the huts etc that I can't show without corporate approval. That isn't very likely. It's easier to just do videos that don't show anything like that.
I'm still dragging my heels with the amp. I hope to get it finished before too long. I have used it on the air on 80m with favourable reports, but I need to sort out the output tuning for the other bands.
Thanks for the kind words Brian, but I'm still not in a position to do regular videos. I bought a new radio the other day, a Yaesu FT2980R for the car. I have done an unboxing video but I haven't decided whether to upload it or not. Unboxing videos are a bit lame.
1) Did you get that link I sent you about the Department of Administrative Affairs ? 2) It must be so nice to drive around the country side avoiding roos and emus all day whilst being paid to visit these sites. You have a wonderful life. 3) Callum makes very good videos. This and Cal are the only 2 channels I watch when it comes to radio.
@@vk6cs456 neighbours would likely be ok but we are under an approach for TRO/YTRE 04 I think it was and they might have something to say about a 100foot structure when they fly around 100ft tops over us lol.
@@vk6cs456 should also ask how you go with that UHF mopole on 70cm? I had a couple that were cut and used for who knows where before that were average on CB (didn't have my call at that stage) though I didn't have an SWR capable of V/U at the time to test them. If that VHF is the bolt/thread mount version (not SO/NMO/5 16th etc) I have one of them in my box of tricks for events and when it was on the car found it extremely brilliant on 146 and 151megs. Though atm I just run a Nagoya dual band for 2/70, RFI CD5000 for CB+local P25/FM rx, RFI CD2195 for NextG/3G repeater and ATAS120A for the HF (not sure how long before I crack snots with it and give up with HF mobile again). The V/U/WCDMA850 is all working great out of the mobile, even the little 400meg on-glass thing for the scanner (used on longer trips only) though the HF just seems useless as tits on a bull most of the times in the mobile.
thanks for taking us for a ride through the Australian Outback. Visiting Australia is on my bucket list I hope to fulfill some day.

Great video, thanks for that brings back memories from when I lived in Oz.
Thanks Glenn.
Very interesting to see the area and the tower. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it.
cool tower but I wouldn't be climbing up there. Nice chinwag about Ghandi and Kenny Everett! haha, showing your age.👍🤓🇦🇺

There's a lot of logging going on around there so you'd better be careful what you wish for. It's a great area so half your luck for living there.

What do you do for work?
Any chance of a hut tour through a site like that?. Would be interesting to see the gear that supports the links.

No probs, thought that may have been the case. Great office you have ;) 73's
How about the gs35b amp is it done

@@vk6cs456 love the videos and droll humour. Super to see work and personal projects. One of the very best radio blogs on TH-cam :-)
If you happen to breakdown, how on earth would anyone find you. Lovely place
There's UHF radio coverage all along the railway, calling for help is no problem. It's a beautiful area, it smells great too.
@@vk6cs456 Lets hope you have a radio with you, if not you could end up on some animals dinner plate.

You can drop that tower off in my back yard I won't complain wink wink ... in fact I might even throw you a carton or two :P ... nice area.
The neigbours might complain though. It's a beautiful part of the country for sure.
