Tell your mate to try Silvo chrome cleaner paste in a tube works a treat for roller inductors as the wire there made of is usually silver plated and The cleaning paste removes the tarnish. It only needs to be cleaned where the roller contact's the wire turns half moon shape . good luck those roller inductors and capacitors are becoming like hen's teeth to find in the UK these days....Remember when I was a youngster they where 2 a penny....the price there going for on Ebay is just silly.73
Thanks Steve, nice to see you doing stuff again, 73 carl.
Thanks Carl. I'll have to pick a HT transformer for the GS-35B amp and get it finished.
I wonder would it be worth while pulling it out and giving it a rub with some 1500 grit?
I think Peter has got some ideas for cleaning it up. It would probably be better to keep all the contacting surfaces as smooth as possible.
Very interesting video again Steve! Keep up the good work!

Forgot to mention don't forget to clean the rod that the Roller travels along as that is the main part of the Connection to the roller.
All noted, thanks Steve.
