  • Finally, someone manufactures a great Mercedes key fob shell
Replacing the shell from 1999 Mercedes S600. Same key fob is used in later W140 and R129 chassis. Earlier cars came with the single button key fob. The same manufacturer also produces single button shell.
And the shim can be made with something else, like thin carton or plastic or something else. DO NOT LOOSE THE TRANSPONDER!!!

It's always nice to get something which is fit for purpose, rather than just garbage 😮

Any other ideas to secure the chip besides printing the shim you made? Can this key still be ordered at dealers if needed and approximately how much it will cost? Is it possible to cut and use the blade that this knockoff fob comes with? Thanks!

dont think the dealer has these keys to be ordered anymore. Shim can be made with paper or thin carboard

Can you do a video for the single Fob. We spoke also about my cylinders needing to be replaced. I paid over $1000 for new fob and now it’s starting to fail. My Mercedes Benz mechanic has passed away.

I got 3 key fobs with a single button for my 1997 S420.Because the infra red didn't work on 2 key fobs I ordered the third one from the Mercedes dealer and I paid over $400. Now this key fob has also quit working and none of them transmit the infra red signal. I can only use them to open and close the doors manually and start the car. What a bummer. I wonder if this issue can be addressed and fixed.

dont remember if 97 is IR or RF. If your car is IR then maybe the sensor in the door handle is faulty

dont remember the cutout date. most likely 3 button keys are for 98 to 99 w140s and r129s
