Me brother bought me Mam 2 Xmas books of Viz. And she wasn’t too keen on Billy ‘The’ Fish until I said “come and have a look at the 2nd half substitute, The Mexican 🇲🇽 Puppeteer”. What a team.! You had “Shakin” Stevens on the wing, the ginger haired short arse from Simply Red Mick Hucknell bolstering the midfield as well. Red Fox 🦊 an Indian Squaw and a very domineering centre forward who was played by the Queen Mother bashing the 2 centre-half’s with her handbag. F****N HILARIOUS 🤣. After that me Mum thought BILLY was the dogs gonad’s. 👍🤣🏴
I've spent the past 10 years trolling the Match of the day Facebook page by answering everything I can with "billy the fish" or "fulchester utd". Here's to another 10 years.
Heh heh...great stuff, and Harry Enfield doing the voices....just been reading about this cartoon in Chris Donald's book "Rude Kids" -- the story of Viz is a fucking great read!
You don't happen to have the alternative opening title sequence, when it was broadcast as "The Further Adventures of Billy The Fish" in 1991 do you? Before the title card there was an animated segment where Billy leaps in and out of the water before heading the ball...then it fades into the title card. I haven't seen that since 2007/2008. If you do, could you upload it please. Thanks very much.
When I was a kid, this was the only cartoon my aunt had round her house as she had no kids and used to put it on for us, it brings back funny happy memories :)
