I had two kitty’s from breeders, but since we found your channel we switched to rescue and shelters! We are also starting to foster. Thank you kitten lady!

So instead of working on one category I’ll work on all animals. Especially since where I live we don’t have many vets that specialize in exotic animals. Thanks for being an inspiration!😁😁
I know you don't do this, but in case anybody needs it stated directly: Don't put the lid on the large clear plastic bin! The kittens need to breathe. Also, when finding a sturdy low sided food and water dish, make sure its human food grade stainless steel. The stainless steel used in some pet dishes can be made with cheaper low grade steel that has nickel in it, which can be toxic.
I agree, Ideoform. I had poked holes through a similar plastic bins, with young kittens, and it still wasn't enough ventilation for them... and they began to pass out. Fortunately, I caught it in time. Also, thick glass dishes (like Pyrex) can work well with kittens.

Hannah, I'm a cat lover and we currently have cats in a small apartment. It is very cat friendly with cubbyholes in an Ikea cube shelving unit, a cat tree, and plenty of places to sleep. I have been considering fostering kittens for a long time, but I always thought I'd need a house and a spare room. Now that I've discovered your channel, I am addicted to your videos. I love how you are encouraging cat lovers to become cat advocates and be a part of the solution. I can totally see us becoming set up to foster kittens some day. I am work at night and my wife works during the day, and I have a flexible schedule.... which means someone is almost always home at all times. I'm going to let this idea simmer and stew for a while and see what becomes of it but if I end up being serious about it, I know where to go for resources! Thank you for doing what you do.

I feel much more confident having a cat because of your web site and information. Thank you!

I want to help but my mom isn't 100% on board yet so I'm setting up a little presentation to show her how easy it will be, thanks for inspiring me kitten lady!
I rescued a kitten two days ago from the humane society in my town and I love her so much I named her Iris and you totally inspired me to get a kitten.
I'm doing my first double litter now, 10 days and doing well despite upper respiratory, calicivirus, worms and coccidia - built them a kitten condo from a couple of really big dog crates, complete with bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom and loft bedroom - it's up on two tables put together and they have our entire 400 sq ft sunroom (no carpet). They are from mid May and mid June litters. Yes, one is staying with us forever♥

You've inspired me to foster! Thank you😻 I have a few questions though (maybe other foster parents could also kindly answer them in the comments?). How exactly do you use the Chlorox dilution (1:32) with the washing machine? Do you dilute it beforehand and dump it in with the detergent? Do you have special clothes that you wear in your kitten room? I have an adult (forever) indoor cat that is vaccinated but I'm still super careful. I'm guessing wipable walls are a must, no?
My family is in winter break rn and we won’t be going back to in person for a while, so we are going to foster a kitten or whatever they need us to do! This is really helpful I’m starting to kitten proof my room, we filled out a form and all we’re doing now is waiting for a call back!!!
I’m excited yet nervous because soon I’m beginning fostering and holy cow I’m ready. I’m scared but confident that with your videos I’ll be able to do it!
Hi Thank you for your informative videos on kittens. I couldn't stop and watched all your videos. I live in Berlin and now I'm thinking of becoming a foster mum for kittens myself. Please don't stop filming and sharing your experience.
Thank you sooooooo much!! I just acquired 5 kitties (10 days old) and knew nothing about fostering cats. I feel more comfortable and informed after watching your video's. Thanks again!!
I absolutely love how you dedicate your life to fostering kittens. You are such a inspiration Hannah! you. We recently adopted a kitten she is around 3 months old, do you have any advise for slightly older kittens! Those cute little kittens are lucky to have you! 😸😀
I’m about to switch from my first found/fostered siblings to ones from the local shelter🥲 sad to see my little ones go, but happy they will be healthy and ready to go to their new home! Will sanitize everything touched before bringing home the new little bunch☺️ thanks so much for your videos, I have a two story ferret cage they love and one of those pop ups too, lots of love from the kittens over here that you helped get healthy through your videos - Misty Bean and Burlioz 😸😸

Thanks for all your videos! We just rescued 3 kittens from our backyard here in Maryland and your videos have been so helpful! Toughest part so far is my other cats. They arent too happy about it! Lol!
Can you teach us how to deal with kitten that scratch and bite all the time? If you would make a video that would really help cause I have a kitten that loves to scratch and bite me.
Kittens that are raised alone don't understand that scratching and biting can hurt. Kittens that are raised along side older cats or siblings learn how to play without hurting. If you are fostering kittens then that shouldn't really be a concern since you aren't keeping them, so it makes sense that she didn't talk about it. If you intend to keep the kitten then you'll be more interested in raising and training it, so you should look elsewhere.
@@tyliwoodrow2774 my cat isn't playing anymore. He is the oldest cat he was raised alone but after a few months we got him a sibling they got along so well.. But unfortunately one day. His sibling died. And now he started to be aggressive.. To my family sometimes. But next week we will be able to get his new sibling we adopted. Hopefully he will stop being aggressively biting my hand..
I think fostering a lonely kitten might result in this, just like Tyli woodrow said!! I have fostered a lonely kitten and no matter how much i taught him not to bite or scratch, he can’t seem to help it!! He’s very energetic and plays all the time!! 😅💔
I didn't have a snuggle kitty, so I used a normal stuffed animal. I warmed it up with a heating pad. I also put my phone under it and turned on a mix on White Noise, which had a cat purring and a heartbeat. It really worked!
This is so useful! I already foster kittens and puppies for an animal shelter with my family! We ALWAYS have problems with finding a good place for our kittens this soft sided playpen will make our lives so much easier! Thanks for talking about it!
OMG, you are just phenomenal. I love you. I fostered once and failed, kept the kitty, and I decided to start again but this time with kittens. Thanks for the video, answered many of my questions
My question is... WHERE DO I FIND kittens / cats?! Lol trouble in paradise ..I live in a city in Sweden and we only have ONE cat ”shelter”and they do actually find lost cats/ homeless (about only 100 per year).. but its a Good thing. But still.. There is larger animal shelters in big cities but yeah. I think I’m gonna volunteer for the cat shelter in my city.. but I have to be a “member” and support their team and pay 28$ a year. But it’s worth it though :)
You could look online for organizations in other countries that bring strays to countries like yours, where demand is higher than the supply. I'm currently visiting my dad in Cyprus and there's a colony here with 200 cats, most of which are actually super friendly and cuddly, and will climb all over one another to get on my lap. The people who take care of them don't even bother advertising most of them because there are just too many to keep up. Most of the people who live here don't care about animal welfare, and those who do are already at their limit with how many more cats they can take care of, so they often send cats to foster/forever homes in other countries. Other European countries with pet overpopulation are Spain, Greece, and most of Eastern Europe. Try googling something along the lines of "foster cats sweden" to find rescue groups that bring animals to Sweden.
Just go to your local per shelter and they will most likely have multiple fostering classes then they will possibly give you an animal/animals of your chosen class
My kittens love love LOVE the comfy hideaway box. Even now at 3 months old I will occasionally still find all four trying to squeeze in and snuggle together.
I had a bookshop in Ohio wherein shelter cats were fostered and then adopted by customers. More than 50 were adopted from my shop over the years. I then wrote a series of novels about the experience (Shelve Under C: A Tale of Used Books and Cats is the first) to encourage other shops to look into fostering dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. The business that took over my location continued to foster, thankfully.
Hi, I have a question that I'm hoping you can answer for me. First can you mix litters of cats, like for example, if you get one loner and a whole litter can you put the unrelated one in with the others or will you need an entirely different space? Also I just wanted to say I am so thankful that you have made this channel you have saved so many lives and informed so many people, just thank you! I'm planning on fostering thanks to you!
Amy A you can mix litters but most shelters only suggest doing that if both groups have been cleared healthwise and you are giving a singleton company. Mixing kittens does come with risk of cross infection because some viruses do not show right away, fighting or bullying and other issues like increasing the risk of uri and fip just due to a larger number of cats in one space. So when combining litters, the benefit needs to outweigh the risk.
I usually wait a week or in older kittens, I wait for a blood test until I mix litters. That prevents the spread of disease like FIV or URIs. Since younger kittens can’t get a blood test and benefit greatly from being with other kittens, I wait a week until I introduce them.
i love how you even take cats that have like problems like they are missing an eye or they are paralized cuz some people only take cats in good condition and wont take the ones with proplems so they dont get adopted so i really lov that you do that
Thank you so much this was so helpful! I have three cats of my own but me and my mom are thinking of fostering kittens as well! Thank you! I don’t know what I would do without you or this channel!!!😊😊😊❤️😸😺😺

When I started fostering I was 15 I’m 17 now so 2 years of experience lol when I first started my baby cousin lived with me so she had a baby doll crib I sticked a small kitten that was 3 weeks old in there he loved it!
I personally love hannah's videos! I don't own a kitten but my cousin does. He's already 13 weeks old but i love him to bits and peices :D (when ever i visit him of course)
I’m in 4th grade and want to foster.... but I have school so I can’t always be with them... so do you know any way I can still participate in foster care?
Kitten Central it will probably be very difficult for you to foster at your age and going to school. I have the same problem except I’m in college. But every summer when it’s kitten season i foster. It’s the only plausible time, especially because you’re in a place with people that may have allergies or bring their own sickness to school with them. Better safe then sorry!
What I did was make it a family project! But don’t lay it all on mum and dad and try to keep extracurricular activities spaced out. It’s a hard journey and you can take a break if they are all adopted hope this helps :)
Hi kitten lady! One of my resolutions this year is to start fostering. I really appreciate this video! I’m excited. I have a lot of pre stuff to do before I ask my own shelters for kittens. I have a lot of dreams and their similar to what you do. It’s really cool to see you and cat man Chris. Hopefully, I get this down and become pros like you! From, Hannah M
I'm so glad I found this video. Me and my mom are gonna foster soon, and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to properly hold a cat and kitten. I've heard so many different ways on how to hold them, and I'm so confused.
Kitten lady. I love you!!! You are so amazing and brave!! The way that you never give up no matter what is amazing! Like Hank! You didn't give up even though she was super sick but she is happy now! Thanks Kitten lady your videos help me so much!! And i am happy to say that...I can gladly help a Kitten who is in a bad situation. Thank you!
I made the first mistake fostering my first kitten this year. It hurts me so badly that sometimes seeing your video makes me cry. I got an orphaned kitten from a stranger who connected to me via FB messenger telling me a kitten needs a mother cat to nurse. So I took him in, named him little cow. Little Cow was so small but he tried his best to suck the mama cat's titties. But since the mama cat's litters were already big, she didn't care a lot for Little Cow. She didn't lick and clean him or nurse him on her own, only when we forced the kitten to her. So we bottle fed him twice a day as additional support. Then one day the other female cat of mine, who has never been neutered but never got pregnant before, took interest in Little Cow and decided to nurse him. We were so happy that we let the female cat named Princess took care of him. Princess finally produced milk for Little Cow and nursed him very well. Suddenly one day, when we woke up, Princess had already taken Little Cow somewhere. We couldn't find him, we searched the neighborhood and all the corners we could. Two weeks later, Princess came home, titties full of milk, dirty but no sight of Little Cow. We understood that the Little Cow didn't make it. I am so heart-broken until today. :'(
りぇーど - a cats or kittens favorite temperatures 87 to 100 degrees. I wouldn't have a problem myself. I lived in Morocco for many years where it was 100 to 125 degrees in summer and my young cat was fine. I put ice cubes in his water dish and I put a big container of water out and he would go into it up to his armpits. I also had a fan going in the house and once in a while he would go to it but he would find a place that was comfortable for him to sleep in the heat. Hope that helps! :-)
Thank you for your wonderful videos. I rescued 4 kittens last fall - but they are mine . I may try fostering. I have the microwave warmers, snuggle heart beat kitten, 5 litter robots, cat beds and trees, and lots of toys and water fountains. I could handle some fosters. The zippered play pen is wonderful. Folds right up.
I am taking home a 8 week old kitten in 2 weeks and you have gave me so much advice we have ordered a play pen because you recommend it and we do not want are older cat to get to him because she hates other cats and kittens in her home . Thankyou so much

This is really helpful I’m starting to kitten proof my room, we filled out a form and all we’re doing now is waiting for a call back!!!
super informative, can't wait to start fostering kittens! x
I’m excited yet nervous because soon I’m beginning fostering and holy cow I’m ready. I’m scared but confident that with your videos I’ll be able to do it!
Hi
Thank you for your informative videos on kittens.
Informative video ; thinking about fostering

Oh my GOD! Little Tidbit inside that bag!😍😍
Azzie Arif they could just be playing
I think she posted a video on this.
Lol trouble in paradise
..I live in a city in Sweden and we only have ONE cat ”shelter”and they do actually find lost cats/ homeless (about only 100 per year).. but its a Good thing.
Visit the page bin kitty collective.. you'll see the condition of strays in Dubai and how desperate they are for homes
thank u so much, i will
Just go to your local per shelter and they will most likely have multiple fostering classes then they will possibly give you an animal/animals of your chosen class
linn you should travel to Eastern Europe, the Balkans or Turkey, there are MILLIONS of homeless cats and dogs.
My kittens love love LOVE the comfy hideaway box. Even now at 3 months old I will occasionally still find all four trying to squeeze in and snuggle together.
Awesome!! Thanks so much for the tips! I just started fostering a kitten last week but great ideas for more than one or tiny kittens😀🐈🐱
Thanks!
Thank you!
I usually wait a week or in older kittens, I wait for a blood test until I mix litters. That prevents the spread of disease like FIV or URIs. Since younger kittens can’t get a blood test and benefit greatly from being with other kittens, I wait a week until I introduce them.
i love how you even take cats that have like problems like they are missing an eye or they are paralized cuz some people only take cats in good condition and wont take the ones with proplems so they dont get adopted so i really lov that you do that
This helped me so much! Thank you!
I just got a kitten today and I’m so excited I have just been Binge watching your videos
I'm proud how you look after these cats and kitten I have a forest cat and it 5 months
forest cat?
Kariii _I What do you mean,’forest cat’?

Thank you so much this was so helpful! I have three cats of my own but me and my mom are thinking of fostering kittens as well! Thank you! I don’t know what I would do without you or this channel!!!😊😊😊❤️😸😺😺
She sounds just like me when I'm talking to my cat Chii. "Don't chew that! I love you but don't chew that." xD
I LOVE the work you do, not just with fostering, but also educating the public. I was intrigued but then had to laugh when that stuffed cat surrogate mom had a heart rate of about 60, when a cat's is around 180. 😄 Regular stuffed animals work great too.
Cool video i love cats and kittens so much!!
I love you too baby girl it's not always best to not miss you anymore but no where to keep you in the am not sure how well she really understands that the same way with depression is the girl id's it to you my love with you and you find who 5th to the bus stop this morning with my partner and I are having 5th 5th 5th 5th 5th 5th 66th I love your confidence in me and three of

@@smallzz6566 It's better not to tell your age to people on the internet, you never know who's on the other side of the device.
I love kittens and ur videos! You are so helpful and the kittens that get rescued from you, are so grateful!
Chloe!!!!
I don't foster, but I also help kittens as best I can when I see them! I have my own kitten, Max, and he is amazing! We have a lot of stray kittens and cats outside so we feed them, and try to give them a shelter. Also I love your ocelot/bengal! She is utterly beautiful!
When I started fostering I was 15 I’m 17 now so 2 years of experience lol when I first started my baby cousin lived with me so she had a baby doll crib I sticked a small kitten that was 3 weeks old in there he loved it!
This video is the most helpful one on this topic. I will begin fostering kittens soon and your videos are the absolute best.
I don't hink I could ever foster. Not for lack of space or time
but 'cause I'd never be able to let them go. 😅
ikr😂😂
@@muslimachowdhury7862 I love you
That’s not cute. You could be saving lives and you aren’t because you don’t think you could let them have a home?
Not a thing to be proud of tbh .
@@aishwaryadeep8815 I know right he could save lives but maybe he was just kidding
I personally love hannah's videos! I don't own a kitten but my cousin does. He's already 13 weeks old but i love him to bits and peices :D (when ever i visit him of course)
My best friend just got 2 new little kitties a grey one and an orange one they are super cute they haven’t named them yet they got them 2 days ago
Magic Pigeon
Grey kitten: shadow
Orange kitten: katniss (or something like that I don’t know How to spell the names)
I might be fostering soon! I’m so excited! Glad you made this video, it will help a lot!
@@Easlinlove age doesnt really matter as long as you know what you're doing.
@@erdalkocak7618 thank you, and it's fine, im still interested in foster care:)
@@instantramen7277 I’m in 7th grade also and I just started fostering rabbits and kittens. Luckily I have online school and am always home
From, Hannah M
what size is your playpen? I want to foster kittens and I don´t know if the 3 1/2 ft one is large enough (I can only provide for weaned kittens)
I'm so glad I found this video. Me and my mom are gonna foster soon, and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to properly hold a cat and kitten. I've heard so many different ways on how to hold them, and I'm so confused.
Who else just watched this for the cuteness 😊
Cuteness and for mah future kitten
Kitten lady. I love you!!! You are so amazing and brave!! The way that you never give up no matter what is amazing! Like Hank! You didn't give up even though she was super sick but she is happy now! Thanks Kitten lady your videos help me so much!! And i am happy to say that...I can gladly help a Kitten who is in a bad situation. Thank you!
OHHH
Wait... this was unintentional
Rozu Gold wat?
Question: I live in Australia with summer reaching 45c (113f) and no air-conditioning, is that too hot for kittens?
They probably shouldn't be in that hot of a temperature. :(
りぇーど - a cats or kittens favorite temperatures 87 to 100 degrees. :-)
Cats are desert creatures evolved in North Africa so they can withstand temperatures up to 50°C
85-90 degrees is good for newborns, so still yes
Thank you for your wonderful videos. I rescued 4 kittens last fall - but they are mine . I may try fostering. I have the microwave warmers, snuggle heart beat kitten, 5 litter robots, cat beds and trees, and lots of toys and water fountains. I could handle some fosters. The zippered play pen is wonderful. Folds right up.
I know coco and Eloise but whos the third one?
that's what i thought!!
Haroun, Andrew's cat, now that they moved in together
The third one is Grisly.🐻
Kaiya Rich no
Same!
