They suddenly all froze! "If we don't move, maybe they won't see us!"
😂😂
Wow, the tinest one sounded. The banding alarm! Awww.. they are so scared.
I love watching them. The poor little ones are so scared. I'm so happy this is done. Now we know that we have 2 boys and 2 girls. Can't wait for the naming contest!! Last year was great. Thank you ever so much for sharing this with all of us!!
I can just hear Annie explaining to Archie "I don't know, this happens every year! They come and handle the chicks, they leave and the chicks are fine. It's gonna be OK, but we should continue to attack."
😂😂😂
8:13:45 “We were really enjoying that meal before you so rudely interrupted us!” 😂
Thank you so much for this live feed. They are so much bigger than I thought they were! Plus, I just noticed the measuring stick on the edge of the scrape, what a great idea! Live long and prosper, little ones!
Their faces! So fierce but concerned 😮
Awww the big wings! "I'm bigger than I look!"
So, two males, two females. Very nice. That's what I was hoping we'd have. And now to name them all. :)
Does Annie remember this routine happens every year?
I meant to watch this live but missed it! Saw an interview about it on KTVU and couldn’t stop laughing with the Psycho violins being played over stills of the little guys right before they were banded. Can’t wait to follow them after they’ve fledged.
I love this time of the season.
Glad you are wearing dive-bomb protection helmets
With how aggressive Annie is, this nest site is helmet-mandatory!
THEY'RE SO CUTE AND SMART
They are so cute
I am a fierce falcon!! You can not…oh, shoot! 😂😂
26:22 So the guy here will also be a part of the banding at the San Jose nest.
What? Interrupted breakfowl? WRONGNESS!
Yay science 🎉
So scared but lunch is waiting. ❤
Hi babies!
Wonderful! Can their gender be determined at this age? Will they be given names?
We had 2 males and 2 females this year. The youngest is a male (and thus appears very tiny). Naming contest will start at 1pm today on our website (calfalcons.berkeley.edu)
@@calfalcons Great! Thank you.
@@calfalconsOh, that is awesome! I was wondering if it would be 2 and 2. Can't wait for the names!

East,West , North and South???
Do I see a blue band in the gravel? Will the banders retrieve it to see who was on the menu?
(Also.....the grawwwwwwwwmpy faces! so endearing!)
It was a racing/homing pigeon band. We get a few of those every year at this nest site.
@@calfalcons Fascinating. Thanks for the quick response!
I was not aware that there was a racing/homing pigeon community in the area.
@@lisascenicActually there is and flyers are not quite thrilled about this bloody mess.
It would be helpful if the woman in the blue shirt had an assistant/scribe to write every down. 🙏🏽
Mommy!!!! Help!!!! We're very scared!!!!
Are they color-coded this year?
Yes, we have Green, Yellow, Blue, and no Tape on their bands.
2boys/girls great! Names:Natalie/Katie(🏊)Jalen/Jason(🏀)
Oops Jaylen!
Great feast aftr breakfast interrupted by banding trauma! All Getting so big! Thank you to video cam people! Love watching each year!
Volume down!!
Not enough shade over the box...they are overheating when the sun is overhead 😢😢😢
You have to be kiddding. Why is the process so lengthy and disruptive? Why are notes made by hand? Love you guys but this should be a faster, more streamlined process by now with all the tech available. A quick scan and that's it. And is there a reason to expose the chicks to human vocalizations? Please find ways to minimize human imprint on the chicks.
You seem more discomposed than the birds do.
