You can always see through the bravado when a guy says he's not really nervous as he is busy getting all the straps adjusted... while his helmet sits on the roof. Did that I think the first three times I went racing. So amped up, ready to go... and then after you get yourself all buckled in you realize, "oh crap" and have to unfasten all the straps to grab the helmet. Brought back pleasant memories of my open wheel modified days...

You are so right HMM. The on track action is only half of what makes racing, especially grass roots racing, the great spectator sport that it is. Hope to see you this summer at an Indiana dirt track. Keep up the good work!!
Don, a 10/10 video my friend. In fact, it's one of the best you have done! Gabe was a perfect racer to follow. I'd buy a car from this man. So much excitement in his face....and his wife and car owner. I too like to follow the less known drivers. My long time girl friend is from Lima. Her Mom can hear the cars at Limaland from her assisted living facility. So neat your were track voice there! You are so good at these videos Don. An absolute natural. I too try and take on everything at the track. Always a pit pass. Talk to as many drivers/crews as I can. Have some beers, take in a bit of dirt/dust, and escape from our world for awhile to the sights and sounds of our favorite sport. Again, what a nice video. It put me in a fantastic mood to now go about my day. Thanks so much. Chuck

Long story, but I held state wide office here in Indiana and learned that when I spoke to crowds about the office, their heads fell into the mash potatoes. As a history buff, I started talking about Lincoln, reading EXTENSIVELY and ended up a popular speaker on the subject of Abe and Mary. Several times, I was asked to be the "tour guide" for fundraising events. People would charter a bus, put fifty or sixty folks aboard and I would serve as the host on the way over (asking Lincoln trivia questions as such) and then lead some groups through Springfield, the presidential "library" and the Lincoln home. Was asked to speak at several of the bicentennial events in 2009 by the National Park Service, including one at the Lincoln Boyhood home in Spencer County, Indiana. Hence, I earned my "I MISS ABE" shirt! All that and used to race an open wheel modified too.
He used to race weekly at my home track here in Wauseon Ohio. He is the current track champ and a great, clean racer. He is a really good guy. I'm glad to see him move onto a bigger stage. He has definitely deserved it

I can only imagine what Gabe would have felt like after 25 laps at Belleville High Banks Speedway in Kansas. Before the alleged cutting down of the banking. Due to the fact in 2001 the lap speeds were 145 mph for NCRA mods and 155 mph for NCRA super late models. In 2002 I was fortunate to be apart of the main feature win for both mods and late models.

HMM this is great content , I too started off in the bomber class and it’s a great feeling to be recognized , social media wasn’t big back in my days but watching this takes me back , this young man was thrilled to death and now the memories are on video to watch forever , I’m kinda lost for the right words to say, thank you for taking your time to promote this young man and dirt track racing .🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸
Gabe is definitely one of my favorite bomber drivers! He parks next to me and my grandpa in the pits at oakshade raceway and is the nicest. He even gave us two free nose peices for our bomber!
And that folks is why we love dirt track racing.
