Thank you Irko for the amount of detail you put in your videos for us to watch how it's truly done. First video of yours I've seen and i'm blown away both by the talent and attention to detail!
I really love how he commits things to tape so you don’t have to bother as much with it in the mix later. He knows that ribbon mic is dark, so rather than waiting for the mix, he just brightens it right away.
Great video again man! Not even done watching it but it's so great I had to comment while watching it :P Thanks for making my vacation a little less boring :)
wow that's an amazing studio! Thanks for taking time to share these things with us. Looks like a lot of extra time put in. I really appreciate it! Subbed, then undsubbed just to sub again.
Irko, great video showing the progression from demo to polished gem. What I also appreciated is how it shows the working relationship between the engineer and producer. As a one-man studio, I do every aspect of what goes on in my studio. As such, I know I wear several hats - producer, engineer, PR, talent scout, etc. What I don't know is when I am wearing each hat. If I could find out what roll belongs to the producer, and which ones belong to the engineer, I think I could maximize my work flow. I think the different hats I wear sometimes get in each others way.
wow I really have to say, this was by far one of the tightest an flyest mix sessions I've hit on line. IRKO your absolutely top 5 mixers I will always continue to Learn from. Absolutely Dope my brother. GBEY.. peace and love....
Its been over a year now guys... Honestly I give you few more days to publish this master piece and if not... have you seen Taken? Oww yes I will find you! And I will get this song!
Man you got access to some sweeettt gear in them studios you work in! Fortunately it's not the gear it's what you do with it right.... But still!!! Whooooweeee!!
Ciao Irko! mi hanno suggerito ieri il tuo canale! Fichissimo davvero! Sei proprio un artista ☺️. E la chicca è che mi hanno detto che sei italiano...spettacolo!!!! Fai mai qualche video in italiano? Complimenti per tutto, lo, studio è bellissimo...quanta bella robetta!!! GRANDE!
I came across your channel from your interview with Graham. Subscribed then, and have watched quite a few videos. As an amateur recording artist, mixer, engineer, yada yada yada, I could only hope to achieve such a high level of greatness with what I have to work with, which isn't much. I'm inspired and keep on inspiring others.
I have a question I'm at my house with a mpc the music sounds great out my monitors but when I put it to a usb drive and listen to it on other stuff the bass is always way to loud I can turn the bass volume down on my mpc for that track and when played on something else its still over powering everything what can I do to at least get a descent sounding bass that's full but not over powering the song at least good enough to be listened to

Serious inquiry here: can I apply to be an assistant or intern? I really want hands on learning experience. Will trade work for the opportunity! I've learned so much from watching a few videos but I know theres so much more to take in...
How come you printed the instrumental on its own? More freedom for the mastering engineer or it's just good to have a version without vocals for different purposes?
I'm also at around 10hrs....seems like no matter how fast I work and how quickly I think I can mix it by 1st impressions of the stems still works out to 10hrs haha.

The final mix is itb summing? Itb to mastering studios ?
yeah that was a Pro Tools mix
@@IRKOstudiobeat wow very good it sound amazing :)
How come you printed the instrumental on its own? More freedom for the mastering engineer or it's just good to have a version without vocals for different purposes?
for interviews background for example.. its definitely not for mastering. the mix is mastered.
IRKO studiobeat I was asking because I know sometimes engineers like to master using individual stems. thanks for your reply :)
Check out my buddy Graham's video on exactly that> th-cam.com/video/DekX3nq5fNE/w-d-xo.html
SPK tous les jours
Can I ask a question? How long did you usual in mixing?
1 song a day on avarage
8hrs on the mix, is that how long a mix typically takes you? What's the longest you spent on a mix?
i think i average 10h
I'm also at around 10hrs....seems like no matter how fast I work and how quickly I think I can mix it by 1st impressions of the stems still works out to 10hrs haha.
what's the title of the song?
Hooked ;) I'll post the link when it's out!
Funny to see the Pro's working with carpets as acustic dampers.
