Saw Wolf Man yesterday afternoon. Immediately watched The Wolf Man (1941) and the 2010 remake/imagining afterwards. Very cool to come across your review including all three.
yesss I agree 100%!!! Also, I think the metaphor wasn't just the cycle of abuse but more specifically abuse linked to toxic masculinity. Like, when the neighbor (I forget his name) asks what Blake does he seems silently judgemental about Blake being a stay-at-home dad, plus he doesn't even ask Charlotte about her job which to me reads like thinly veiled misogyny. So, like you said, having most of the film talk place in one night really takes away from the message, because we didn't get to see Blake change into a more agressive/toxic person. But the body horror was done VERY well, I loved so so much of it and there was some real creativity put into the camera work so ultimately it wasn't a terrible movie, I just wish it was better :/
I adore the 2010 Wolfman ; the Romani representation actually is fairly good. Unlike Nosferatu 2025 which dropped the ball immensely in its Romani representation. This Wolfman looks alright and I’m definitely going to check it out
Saw the trailer for the new one in the theaters before nosferatu! I can't believe I didn't know that the wolf man was a classic universal monster OOPS.
They didnt push the envelope …lacked intensity even with that setting…and father for somereason is still conscious even after fully transformed but hes father is not..message is there though ..dont scar your children by diciplining them to much…or be carefull how you raise your children your intent might be good but it could scar them
Lon Chaney played the Phantom of the Opera, while his son,Lon Chaney,Jr.,played the Wolfman.Lady Jenevia is mixed up as to the actors who portrayed these characters.
Hi Lady Genevieve, are you trying to be funny with those eye shadow? It is kind of distracting. Thank you for your reviews. You know so much about movies and the people involved..so many names..so many elements to a movie, plot, character, actors..thank you

13:35 Chewing off his own foot felt like a callback to Saw. I loved it

His name was Derek. 😂

Can we PLEASE stop calling this a reboot?
The Invisible Man was groundbreaking!
It really was! 👻

It's not too late to go back and watch more of those films now! 🐺🔥

"The original film starred Lon Chaney Jr who was the son of Lon Chaney whom you might recognise as the Phantom of the Opera" Mixed up where?
I saw the Benicio Del Toro one and loved it. I want to see this one, too.
We're still in opening weekend so now is a perfect time to do so! 🥳

Did the wife and husband look like each other? Same curly hair and eye brows..
It's not better than 2010 version (and that is not a great movie), let alone the original. No wonder it bombs at the box office...
Not even close to the original
Wolfman 2025 is awful
