    I’ve been in sales my entire adult life and I have to say Jordan is very good. I can tell he loves selling people. It’s a high I can only describe to people that love sales too. It doesn’t matter what you’re selling, it’s all the same… people make decisions based on emotions and your job is finding that need to fill or that pain point and make your product solve that problem. Love listening to people that love sales as much as I do and listening to their ideas. I find myself incorporating a lot what Jordan does into my own style without even thinking about it because it’s solid advice.
    You’ll get to a point where you look forward to Monday’s because it means you get a chance to sell again. You’ll definitely start looking forward to sales meetings when you’re consistently dominating your sales team. If you’re struggling right now but you DO love what you do, you will be fine. You’re watching this video now getting better when you could be watching Netflix…

    Hi Jordan, thank you for sharing this video.
    I don't know if there is going to be a worst time in my life, I worked in recruitment for 3 years have been doing well. Covid hit, we lose job and I am currently working as door to door sales (sell books to schools). I will not give up and continue to learn to be the best sales person.
    Many doubted my ability throughout my career and they have been wrong. Tough times like this will not beat me! My Why (family) is too strong for me to give up.

    This is sooooo good.
    Whenever I'd call in the office (where I work) to talk to the operations manager, I'd have to go through the gatekeeper.
    How I always managed to speak to the operations manager, I always said it exactly how JB says it here.
    "Hi this is Erick, can I speak with Stephane please?" 10/10 works.

    10:04 is the golden nuggets. And I laughed at that finger ha ha, it seemed so heartfelt. You know how to immerse in the role ;) The other issue though is when you do NOT have the name of the person to talk to. That's why referrals are so important to get. But then again with referrals you can mention the referrer's name.

    99% of my cold calls with gatekeepers goes like this: “He’s in a meeting, can I take a message?” I’m heavily struggling.

      Talk with authority asking for them directly as if you already knew you keep it as short as possible, works most of the time tho comment above is pretty good

      Probably super late but drop other business names and random names of other people they may know. Especially now during the holidays say “X told me to call them after thanksgiving (or whatever holiday)

    Careful with this advice. The FTC requires you identify yourself, even in B2B sales. Acting like you know the person and are already speaking to them (when you're don't and you're not) can have some blowback.

    This concept applies to residential cold-call sales as well. (I just realized it with this video). When the person answers their cell phone I become instantly familiar to them and that's how it works. You more easily segway into your pitch via your listeners comfort. How about that. So I now have a better understanding about commercial gatekeepers now.

      Do telephonic research..by going through receptionist and if that doesn't work dail random extensions and pretend your speaking to your prospect from a specific department.

      It depends on the size of the company and the product being sold. You want a ceo if it’s just a small company. Usually a CEO is just a sole owner and doesn’t have many other pockets to refer people to in the business.
      In bigger companies they segment out the funding. The ceo would just refer you to the person in the company you need to speak with that’s in charge of the budget.

    Jordan, how do you deal with with cold calling situations where you don't know the name of the business owner.

      you trick them into telling you the name. hang up and call back. Simply say I am looking for "David" the gentlemen that handles your "IT". Gatekeeper will say "do you mean henry?" then you say oh yeah... then kind of read the call. if its awkward. Say bye youll reach back then you call again the next day and then use his name.

      This is when I call multiple times. The first time isn’t to be put through. You use the gatekeeper to gather information.
      Then you can call back.
      “Hey Jane im hoping you could help me out here. I’m looking for the person that handles XYZ but I’m not sure who to speak to about it. Would that be you?” (This is to get them to tell you who it is).
      Then, when they give you a name, ask if they are there today. They are going to tell you no. That’s when you ask when they’ll be back in and it’ll make them commit a little and give you something. If not, at least you have a name.

      Tell gate keeper as if you were calling bsck: for example, I was just speaking with Firstname and the call dropped, can you put him / her through, the more you explain, tbe more you lose.

      Doesn’t matter in most cases. I had to do it too and I still set at least 2 appointments for the company a week. It’s all about how you sail past it. Never leave on a statement, always on a question. A lot of times they forget about the last thing you said because they are searching for an answer

      collect all the info before the call, I tend to collect more than one name that is a decision maker in the company, I find the more names the better.

    What in this situation:
    - Jim is not here now, maybe you'll be able to reach him on his private number?
    If I asked if they can give me his number so I can reach him, they'll be confused why im asking for it since we know each other so well.
    (Im cold calling businesses with receptionists that's why im asking)
