    Thanks for sharing Todd! I contacted Whites metal detectors last year and told them about your channel and gave them your email address so that they could contact you to do some reviews for them because you do such a great job testing and doing reviews. Guess they didn't care enough to contact you back to do reviews? Maby I will buy a Mine Lab.

    Proud Tesoro Tejon owner here. It's really one of the best machines I ever worked with.
    I hope you will get your hands on White's or XP's one day.

    I wish you never stopped doing these. Lol
    I looked for one for the impact since you had other videos with it. Back when i first saw these i had the fors relic i just had bought a d wish you could have run it. Still have it and still use it and the racer 2. I got a legend that just areived and for all thw whiz bang of it, im betting my tesoros would still win haha. But i wanted something fancy to have in the arsenal

    I notice the middle shaft is installed upside down. If you try to set the detector down to dig it will not lay right because it's hitting the shaft first.

    Nice to see the test bed making a comeback, and good results for an older Minelab. Unless I am mistaken those machines are VLF and not the Minelab patented FBS tech, Many thanks.

      Mud Max Metal Detecting yes, it's a selectable frequency machine. You can run any one of 3 single frequencies at a time via coil change or a coiltek universal coil.

    Hello again my friend! I just wanted to clarify for myself, that you originally had the Tejon & the Vaquero in a test together, and your end result was that you leaned slightly more to the Vaquero over the Tejon. I'm not sure how long ago that video was made, and it's even possible it was made after this video. So I'm just wondering if your option has changed? The Fisher F-75 I too was told is a fantastic MD. Further, you say here that the Nokta FORS Core is right up there with the best? I've not tried the FORS Core yet, but the Nokta FORS Relic is proving to me, to be one of the most amazing MD's I've ever had, that is equipped with VDI. My Tesoro Vaquero is, BY FAR is my most favorite of all.
    Let me know if your opinion(s) have changed since of course newer more advanced MD's are coming to the market. I think the very basic fundamentals & functions of how metal detectors work, has not changed much since their invention, but the "twiking" of what a particular MD can find, or is designed to respond better to, is becoming more advanced.
    Would you agree?

    • @scannerguy1968
      @scannerguy1968  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well. I still think the vaq is about as good as you're going to get overall. I sold mine and in need of replacing it. I miss it. I have a Nokta Impact now that I should run through. It's looking to be a great machine like the Core.

    I've heard so much about the 3khz coil,and how that lower frequency automatically discriminates against iron,and reacts wildly to highly conductive material. I own a 705 xterra. I've only just begun I'm considering purchasing a 3khz coil.

    First off, I love your metal detecting vids. As a fan, it seems like its been too long since a MD vid upload, but I understand, getting your hands on various models isn't always an easy thing to do. I would like to see you bury a couple nails (where at least one is a square nail) and include that in your test garden (just nails, no coins). The purpose being, to make sure the machines aren't falsing on the nails when one might think they are squeaking out good signals because there's a coin under a couple of nails, or nails buried in the vicinity of coins. I'm saying this because I own several machines but find myself grabbing the CTX most often. That being said, in my soil I have issues with one way falsing, especially with the square nail with the CTX (and other machines as well). I just think it would legitimize the couple tests you do with coins buried under nails or in close proximity of nails a little bit more. You know, just to be certain the machine is picking up the coins as opposed to falsing on the nearby nails. Just a suggestion to make your comprehensive test that much more complete. Keep up the good work. I hope to see the Impact make a run through your garden soon.

    • @scannerguy1968
      @scannerguy1968  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, I should of buried a few more types. Can't stop now though. I do see a difference with different detectors on that specific target. Some do better. It's so hard to mimic real world conditions so I just generalize I guess. Thanks for watching and am hoping to have more up here soon.

      @@scannerguy1968 awesome thanks. If you're interested I still have that nokta fors relic lol. But it was a short run detector and not sure if it matters to add to the series lol.
      But awesome I can't wait for more!! I just got the legend. Last detectors o bought were the relic and the racer 2 so I have a lot to learn and catch up on.
      Thanks again for the videos

    Bought my Xterra in 2008, never sold it and after seeing your vid I don't think I need a new detector!
    If you put on a 18.75Khz coil the recovery speed is miles better and still quite deep.

    • @scannerguy1968
      @scannerguy1968  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only bought this to test and now I'm having a hard time attempting to sell it. They are that good.

    "Got to go slow with the X-Terra". I know the feeling. I sold my 705 because of the terrible lag time. Feature wise, this thing has everything one could ever need though. It's loaded.
    I would like to see you try the Nokta Impact or Relic if you haven't already. I bought a CoRe thanks to your videos and still learning it.

    • @SteveMiller-yw7kv
      @SteveMiller-yw7kv 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never noticed the 705 having. Slow lag time.. just run it in all metal and it's plenty fast...

    • @masterofrevolt106
      @masterofrevolt106 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everybody wants to hunt in all metal. I certainly don't. Maybe the lag time I mentioned was when compared to other detectors. If the 705 is somebody's first detector, they might never notice . Try an F19 for a while and you will understand what I mean. Why do you think that scannerguy mentions that the coil needs to be swung slowly on this machine ? The 705 is a good machine. It's not perfect and it's not for everybody.

    • @SteveMiller-yw7kv
      @SteveMiller-yw7kv 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had my 705 for around 8 years and found a lot of good stuff.. personally, I've never found it to have slow recovery speed.. check out my recovery speed test on TH-cam...plus, I really like how quiet it runs in high Emi.. sorry your having sellers regret...

    • @masterofrevolt106
      @masterofrevolt106 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a 705 myself. It had a few things that I liked and annoyances I could not live with. Speed or lack thereof was one. I'm glad you like yours. Lots of people do and that's perfectly all right. Finding lots of good stuff is nice of course but it doesn't make me change my mind. I found a lot of good stuff with the Fisher F44 I had. I didn't like using it no matter what I found. I sold it just like I did the 705. To each his own I guess. Sellers regret ??? Hell no.
