Because band class fucking sucks and they some how find a way to suck the life out of music. I couldnt make music unfun if i sat around and tried to make it as boring as possible for 10 years i couldnt. They systematically ruin music for kids its a fucking disgrace

@@alloftheabove8522 they never said music or the instruments were unfun, just the system that which they were being taught. and i completely agree. i quit band after making all county because it genuinely was not enjoyable. i wanted to learn pieces that I enjoyed and had fun playing, not concert music that i will never need to know again. it’s unfortunate too because i know a lot of kids stop for the same reason.
It's great to see young people playing and listening to early style jazz and enjoying it. They do that because the fundamentals: swing, the blues and improvisation, are all here to listen to. The contribution of Wynton Marsalis, and his dad and siblings, to music is enormous. This country, United Kingdom, should give him at least an honorary knighthood, for his services to music

Love how encouraging Wynton is, "take your time" what a great mentor, you can tell the trombonist was nervous at the start but what a fine job he did and of course Wynton was amazing as always.

My mom grew up in the same neighborhood as his father Ellis Marsalis. They went to the same grade school and all the way up to college. A very talented family!
I got lucky and managed to see Winter Marsalis a few years back when he played at the Kennedy center. Man is an absolute genius when comes to the trumpet.
Just listen to those fills after the lyric. Now that's jazz. Going way, way back. That's jazz. So simple. So concise. So beautiful. It was always there. Just waiting. Only a matter of time before some Cat called it Jazz. Amen to that.
The tbone solo I really enjoyed. Smooth and quiet at first, then picked up. The tenor solo was also really nice too, adding contrast to the more chill tbone solo, coming in with faster licks.
Wow. Bravo. Bravo. The piece is soulfully bluesy. It is also technically challenging. The phrasing of the singing is different. The trumpet parts aren’t easily played.
It's interesting to see how Wyntons trumpets changed throughout his career. At the beginning they evolved from normal trumpets to these extravagant arty trumpets, but now he is back to the 'normal' type. As far as a Monnette can be described as normal..
Cool yeah I will I . I went to Memphis Tennessee to see to tour Elvis’s house 2015/2016 as we were there for Xmas and New Years. Memphis was pretty cool with the live bands playing in that main Arcade st that was closed off.
I saw Wynton Marsalise at the Hollywood Bowl back in the 80s, also with his original band, all due respect to Jeffrey Watts, bad a/drummer, his brother Bradford is s great saxaphone player, bass player was great, I'm not sure if Bradford was there because it was in the 80s but I can say it was great, also saw Miles Davis their on a different night, those were beautiful time's.
I got dragged into Pizza Rizzo's a few years ago and decided to try the antipasto salad and loved it! The whole family loved their food so now we have to go every visit.

I’m 19 and I self taught myself on the trombone to play jazz. Nothing is more enjoyable than sitting there and playing a grove that comes to mind.
That trombone solo was so filthy this should be rated M for Mature. Amazing.

When you play like Wynton, you can play any kind of trumpet you want!
He has many moneys trumpets and he chooses them based on the situation. From the “normal” 997s to his decorated raja or prana trumpets.
