Once again I enjoyed your choice of music. As far as the edge finder question, as a hobby machinist I am always interested in how those who know a whole lot more than me do things. I would enjoy learning your techniques. Thanks again. Great video.

    Matt,
As someone who knows nothing about machine work other than what I've learned watching you and Adam Savage make metal shavings, getting more how to knowledge would be fantastic. In the end you need to make the videos you want to make, don't make yourself go mad trying to be a teaching channel if you don't want to.

Thanks Tim, Much appreciated. I also watch Adam's channel, full of good stuff on there. I wouldn't be a teaching channel, just show how I do particular setups or jobs etc. All the best, Matt 👍

Loving the finish in the covers, I think it was the right decision to sand blast them

    • @MattChiversWorkshop

Yes they did turn out good, I think it made them stand out more. All the best, Matt 👍

Get yourself some hydrochloric acid from your hardware store to soak your mild steel in. Removes rust and mill scale. Saves you a trip to sand blast stuff.
Just make sure to use it in a well ventilated area and wear the correct PPE.

Brick Acid is hydrochloric acid, I’ve been using it recently to prepare parts for painting with great success 👍. Got to admit though, sandblasting is rather enjoyable to watch as you do it 😂. All the best, Matt

@@MattChiversWorkshop Exactly right. It is also sold as PH adjuster for swimming pools.
      Keep up the great work.

Great video, as always! Shouldn't be too long before you can get the little engine running on air.
Also, a bit off-topic, but have you considered a name for the little engine?

    • @MattChiversWorkshop
      @MattChiversWorkshop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you. Hopefully it won't be too long, but there is still many little things to do. Not even thought about naming it yet 😂. All the best, Matt 👍

Got to be careful of those 🐻 they can make a mess of your fingers

I know, they’ve nibbled my fingers a few times! 😂👍

I like your series, but I do wish you would stop touching the part while the machine is running, I can feel myself cringing just in case.

    • @MattChiversWorkshop

I like to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats! I know one thing the camera makes my fingers look closer than they are, it’s like an optical illusion. All the best, Matt 👍
