    Have had my Kia Carnival for 7 months and it was the best decision ever! It has all the bells and whistles, my kids are comfortable on long rides and the tvs are amazing! I love all the features.

    The traditional center console with the traditional gear shift made me buy the Sedona. Bought it in 2016, still have it. Only issue I’ve had is the front struts, stabilizer bars and rear shocks going out this past year. None of those were covered by the extended warranty. The other issue seems to be common, one sliding door the sensor went and not even a month after getting that fixed the other door stopped closing all the way electronically. Both were covered by the extended warranty. Other than that it’s been great. I love driving it. My wife has a 2019 Sienna XLT AWD. it’s really nice but I hate driving it because it has that slim armrest instead of the center console. I just feel like I’m driving a nice SUV with the Sedona. The Sienna definitely has more room, especially with the second row sliding back much farther.
    Anyway. I’ll drive the Sienna at least through the warranty. I’ve only put 64,700 miles on it so far. Still have three years 3 years/35,000 miles to go. After that we’ll see. We have a lot of grandkids, so, it definitely comes in handy.

    Remember....EVERYTHING comes with a price. What it will come down to is "What's important to you?". Sienna...great MPG...great. What's the price that it'll pay? The battery takes up space..which is why cargo room is much less in a Sienna than a Carnival. You're talking about 141 overall Cubic feet vs 101 cubic feet. Tell me if that's important to you. Hybrid battery is paired with an underpowered 4 Cyl and CVT, which makes the Toyota scream for more power. This isn't a problem with a proper V6, which the Carnival has. So again...everything comes with a price. To me, 35mpg is great. But I'm driving a big minivan...not a 2 door coupe. I expect power. I expect room. I expect comfort. I don't mind that it gets 22mpg. When I travel on 3 long distance trip, I got between 28-29mpg on the highway. I will take that with a proper v6 ALL day long. As for AWD? I live in MN. So AWD would be nice on snowy days. But let's facts? How many days a year are we actually driving on thick snow? Minivans have thrived for years...decades w/o AWD. I think it's another overrated item. I put snow tires on my Carnival and I will put it up against ANY AWD vans.....ALL DAY...because I know in the end, I will be able to stop faster than them. And that's how you avoid accidents. AWD doesn't help you to stop, which is the main cause of accidents in the winter time.

      I’ve read multiple times that good dedicated winter tires are all u need to handle snow & ice & that AWD is overrated. Would like to hear what ppl in snowy/icey places say about this.( studs or chains are prolly best vs. sheet ice, but Blizzaks and similar seem to do well vs. ice).

    Our family was going to get this exact Kia Carnival but decided on the Toyota Sienna, primarily because it is a Hybrid. We felt buying a fully gas vehicle to have for the next 8-10 years was not the way to go. Especially where cars are headed.
    If the Kia Carnival would have offered a hybrid or electric option, we would have definitely bought it.

    • @kevinW826
      @kevinW826 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ice vehicles will still be around 30 years from now. EVs will still be a niche market as long as the governments get kickbacks from the oil companies and the infrastructure is nowhere near what the governments are saying. If California and Norway and other countries tell the population to not charge up their EVs overnight because it will crash the power grid, they are not the answer.
      Hybrids or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are. And gas and diesel.

    • @merica7050

    • @tannerarmstrong1496
      @tannerarmstrong1496 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The savings that will give them is entirely dependent on their own driving patterns as well as the gas industry price fluctuations. An added benefit to the hybrid is it also gets more range on a tank which is important to some people.

    • @kevinW826
      @kevinW826 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tannerarmstrong1496 my sister in law and her husband were considering the f150 hybrid as they tow a camper and he works 10 minutes from home. The ford salesman said since their towing is once a month and as he works so close to home, any gas savings would not be coming their way for at least 10 years. So they stuck with the gas only f150.
      Also, there is a video on TH-cam of someone doing a highway fuel economy test of the sienna hybrid and he was only able to get around 450-500 miles on a tank, where as he did one of the Honda odyssey and he was able to get 650 miles. Flat, level highway. No hills or mountains along the drive.
      My old boss was looking at getting a hybrid, but every salesman he talked to was telling him he wouldn’t get one for at least two years, that was Honda and Toyota. He doesn’t trust the American manufacturers or the South Koreans to build a proper car. So he stuck with a gas only suv.
      Gas will still be the major market player for a while regardless what people think and say.

    Kia has the more versatile interior in eight place models and better tech but that Toyota powertrain is a major advantage. Not that much slower, smooth enough expect under full throttle, and almost double the city MPG which is a huge advantage. I wish the advantages of both could be combined into one vehicle. Then it would be perfect.

    Not having a Carnival Hybrid option is very disappointing. I put off purchasing a vehicle last year in the hopes that Kia would offer a Hybrid option. Question for those who own a Carnival. Which package is preferred excluding the SX Prestige? I knpw I wont like the fancy center seats because we need to access the back seats. I would love entertainment package in a standard setup. How do you like the middle row having 3 seats vs having the passthrough? For the package you have, is there anything it lacks you wish you had upgraded, or is there any upgrades you thought you'd want, but now don't utilize? I hope they fix the ECO Mode and the transmission issues. I have owned one since August 2021. It is my dream car. Therefore, transmission sucks and it shakes when riding it on ECO Mode. If you are getting it, make sure the you drive it off the ECO mode to the avoid shuddering and make sure the motor/transmission was made in Korea. That will ensure the car will last longer. @SergiiKalinichenko ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't get confused. This is not a minivan. This is an improved version of SUV. If you are a minivan driver, then stay away. You will make a very expensive mistake. This is an SUV! Very little room is left in the trunk when all the seats are used. The roof towards the end of the vehicle is very low, and its very uncomfortable for an adult to sit in the back. But absolutely, the worst thing they did to make this car very uncomfortable is that there is no way for my wife to get from the front passenger seat to the back of the car while we are in motion because she has to climb over a huge center console. Even my older Odyssey has a center console that folds away and anyone from the front seat can just WALK to the back of the car. With this SUV you will have to stop get out of the car and get back in through the rear doors. I am not promoting Odyssey, they stopped making good minivans back in 2010. Now a new Odyssey is a weird mix of a minivan and a car.
