In 1981 I had a very similar 74 CJ5 with a Chevy 283, Rancho suspension and Smittybuilt weld on roll cage. Loved it. Drove it all over Great Lakes, IL winter of 81-82.

My dad gave it to me as my first "car" when we finished. We used at as our hunting vehicle as well as my daily driver. My family made so many great memories in that jeep. This video made those memories flood back in my head! Thanks for making the video!

So awesome! I owned a '74 CJ5 when I was just out of High School. I paid $4,000 for it and thought the seller was too greedy. But it was without a doubt the coolest and most fun vehicle I've ever owned. This video brings back some amazing memories. I may never do it, but I'd love to get one again. However, apparently there is too much cold. And this is it. I’ll go back to dealing with and being thankful for the Florida heat and humidity, thank you.
Awesome video! Awesome CJ! Like you said, that's how a Jeep should be driven! You've inspired me to go outside, take the doors of my JK and drive around in the snow!
Topless + doorless is what I do with my 1954 M38A1 (essentially cj5 but military variant) in the winter! I even park it outside so I end up shoveling my seats and stuff off. Fun stuff. I'm putting on a Tiger Top or Super Top soon...

I also remember when the YJ's came out they sold kits to convert CJ's to square headlights.

Definitely looks like fun but a bit cold. It’s cool to see the old Jeep’s out.
LOL - it literally was below freezing out but still a ton of fun.
Man we gotta see more of that shop and collection! Uber jealous!!
LOL - once it's warms up a bit, we'll do a tour of our collection :)
Beautiful jeep! My first vehicle was a 1974 cj5, man I miss it! Mine had the 258 inline 6 , 72-74 had a 4 low and a 2 low,, it's kind of a gem...😉
Thanks! Bummer you had to get rid of yours.
@@wayalife sold it to my neighbor, because I wanted to get a k5 blazer, I built a 06 tj a few years ago from ground up and it was a nice jeep, I wanted something that would tackle some tough terrain but yet still drive across country..
