Like, don't get me wrong, i'm not a big fan of being alone in the middle of the ocean, but the root of the fear is this irrational belief that something massive is gonna be there. It was outside an old temple or something like that and had greenish water. You could barely see through it but that wasn't the bad part. I started swimming like normal and suddenly the head of a big snake/dragon like creature appered besides me staring at me looking like it was about to drag me into the depth. Turns out nobody bothered to tell me that some of the decorative statues were below the surface of the pool because they were meant to keep away bad spirits by making them think that the water is already occupied by other spirits... And they were already creepy af outside of the water. Since then I'm always a bit worried about water you can't see in 😂
Scuba diving is something else. I remember my first dive as a kid I could see actual sharks in the distance, it terrified me but nothing I could do about it so just remained calm as I descended. After a while it wasn't too bad, but I would never go deeper than that personally.
honestly, i just watch these videos because of my interest in the ocean, ive always loved and been intrigued by the sea, its just so interesting to me and just so pretty, my dad lives by the sea, and sometimes i head over to him and we go lobster fishing :) we may know less than 5% about the ocean, but idc im still going in that water lol

Yeah that one got me too. The thought of being on a ship out in the middle of the ocean at night and falling in is one of the scariest things I can think of. The fact that the AVERAGE depth of the ocean is over 3600 meters, or about 2 1/4 miles, is TERRIFYING. Light cant reach past 1000 meters, and begins to fade pretty quickly at about 200 meters. So that means if you're in the middle of the ocean you likely have at least 2600 meters/1.66 miles of pitck black ocean beneath you, with creatures that grow to be over 100ft long, or even bigger.
The thing that scares me most about the deep ocean is that you could see an animal and be like "Oh that things pretty big, i wonder where its kids are." and then being told *IT IS THE KID*

Nothing like that most probably exists because most of the unexplored ocean is deep and due to lack of resources and light the creatures don’t grow that big as they have to adapt to the harsh environment

Actually I love being in the ocean. Deep water can be a bit eerie, if thats what you choose to focus on. But the waves, the current, the sealife, it's all very amazing when you get to be a small part of it. I'm calm and at peace swimming in the ocean. Hovering several hundred feet in the air, now that terrifies me.
