- This video presents how to perform a temperature calibration with a Curie reference substance on a TGA. The curie transition can be used to calibrate or adjust the temperature of dedicated TGA analyzers.
The video concentrates on the following key points:
• Loading the calibration method
• Entering the sample weight
• Loading the sample
• Placing the magnet on the furnace cover
• Starting the experiment
• Automatic evaluation and result assessment
The principle behind the curie temperature calibration is that at a certain temperature, the curie reference material loses its magnetic properties. This causes a sharp change in the weight measurement, which can be used as the calibration temperature. Up to 4 curie standards can be used simultaneously across the wide temperature range of the TGA.
The TGA includes a top-of-the-line METTLER TOLEDO ultra-micro balance with unique built-in calibration weights which ensures unbeatable accuracy.
