Damn, tracks like this one make me wish there was a rea-life night club with a sci-fi theme, with many references to great sci-fi universes such as Mass Effect, with this kind of music, and the ambience of Mass Effect's night clubs. Just for the fun of it.
I am Commander Shepard and this is my favourite club in the Citadel ( then you go to Omega and say the same thing, because afterlife theme was nontheless sexy)
I spent more time in Dark Star than the amount of actual game content there should of ever allowed. Simply because of this track. And perhaps I was hoping the Techno Turian might of walked in, and owned the place.

I am so grateful to have discovered Mass effect so late. I only played it this year (Legendary edition) and my goodness, it was one of the best games I've played in 20 years. Right up there with the Witcher trilogy (which is arguably the best game ever made).
I wanna have my own nightclub built and have this music in it. Throw in all the awesome animated signs, lights, holographs, etc. Thus, making it the best club ever.

Mass Effect/ME2 have changed the ways I play games now. Seriously, I never played a game that wasn't my favorite since my child hood, but Mass Effect/ME2 has changed that for me as well. This music is sexy
I would definitely live on the Citadel and be living the "Night Life" when I could. I can't forget Afterlife on Omega either, come to think of it. I bet Illium had some amazing clubs as well.
Omg, this song was in an SSX snowboarding game that I played like 6 years ago! I think ssx3. They played it in the city part. I stood around in the lounge for like 15 min trying to remember where it was from.
@johnnymorgan999 No offense meant to you and your team that was working on FIFA, but I'm definitely grateful it ended up in ME2. So far, it's been one of the best songs I've ever heard in a game. The cool vibe, the feel of this song, makes it just perfect for a futuristic nightclub. The other two clubs are also good, but Afterlife's frosty ambiance pushes all the right buttons for me. Good luck with all your future developments, and hopefully we'll hear more great songs from you!
I knew this sounded familiar!!! This was in SSX 3! It's one of my favorite tracks from the game. All right! Wow. I feel better inside knowing the connection, and now I understand why the club songs didn't make the soundtrack. They've appeared in other EA games. Thanks for the heads up on that tidbit. That's been bugging the hell out of me.
@johnnymorgan999 thank you very much. eventually it ended up in ssx3 and it was sweet riding down the slopes with this. later i found it back here and i was like 'hey!!!!' :D
Yesterday i was driving on highway while listening to this song and after end of it i realised im going 210 km/h. I just completely lost a perspective of speed. Incredible driving song! (and unike me, look at ur speed meter while listening to it:)
I can't wait to hear the ost they have got worked out for number 3, better bring back the music from mass effect 2 though, I wanna be able to hear this in my cabin:)
My local news station uses this as their background music...I still can't turn on the TV in the morning and NOT think of the Citadel.
the morning show.. or sunrise i forget which one :P i love the song but i hate that they have it.. considering how much they talk a lot of crap
you local news station is using this song? XD Which city? Im think i have to move.
@@BugfishTM Sunrise, channel 7 in Australia. They stopped playing it a few years ago but I also recognized it and thought it was funny.
I've watched sunrise before and never heard it, if only...
Here is an example if anyone still cares haha (they played it everyday in their finance updates) - th-cam.com/video/yGfyx1OOuEc/w-d-xo.html
13 years, lot's happened since then, glad I still remember this track, used to sleep to it
I feel that, man. So many memories to this song. Road trips, long nights, etc. I was a teenager then, full of optimism, and now I’m about to be 30. Sigh…

I wish clubs actually played music like this. Maybe then I'd enjoy them more...
Some do, but it's super rare. Shame :(

Blue138UEF what kind of genre is this? Would like to find more
Mass Effect has the best club music
If they had clubs like this today I would go out more.
+Kathleen Ashbaker Let's just hope they keep it that way when Mass Effect Andromeda is released, because if they decide to play dubstep I am leaving
+Francis Zaldivar this genre is called Progressive Breaks. Underground Music Genre.

If only there was a nightclub where they played music like this and not the generic trash the music industry sprouts out these days :/
The Sims too :)
It would be so cool to chill in a club with aliens listening to this.
Nick Allen so true ;-D
After reading this comment. I wandered for 10 seconds how awesome it would be.
ayyy lmao aliens or regular aliens?

vrchat is closest you can get
Fun fact, this song is actually not original to ME2, it was made for SSX 3, a snowboarding game from EA Sports BIG.
@@SorakuFett wow)
That would be a great idea. Great place to cosplay if you don't want to spend lots of money/time at an event.
mass effect meets star wars cantina type nightclubs, sign me in
With headphones, this thing sounds amazing.
Ahh, this song brings back good memories from both Mass Effect 2 and SSX 3!

freakin love this song! it was on my favorite snowboarding game, SSX3, and I was stoked when i heard it being piped into Dark Star.

total club manager 2004 !!
They should've re-used this concept art for Purgatory in _Mass Effect 3..._
I'm Commander Shepard, and you're listening to Radio BIG.
Matthew simpson Best Crossover Comment I've read this year.
2023 and this song still claps!
2021 - nice track
Great job Morgan, the song fits perfect with the Mass Effect universe.
Thank you for posting this video and listing the song/artist.
Thumbs up if you've heard this FIRST in SSX 3
You know I THOUGHT I had heard this song somewhere before! Can't believe it was from SSX 3, damn!
This song was alredy in Total Club Manager 2004 under the name Powerplant - Full Throttle
I loved the Dark Star the moment I got in ^^
MrExtinktor haa! I knew i had heard that song before mass effect 2. I played the shit out of TCM2004. Thanks for reminding me lol

Hell yeah! Put more of the stuff in the...thing more stuff goes in!
Beautiful track!
@VGAnxiety So I would basically travel the world just to dance.
Fascinating!
always nice to hear good music :)
Awesome, I'm looping this song for almost an hour now...!
Why does this remind me of SSX 3?... Hmmm....
+Maple_Hobbit Peak 1 Represent
+Maple_Hobbit Thank youuu i'm not the only one !!!
+Maple_Hobbit John Morgan produced a ton of tracks in SSX, SSX Tricky and SSX 3. He was also head of the sound department for the trilogy.
As being punk rocker all my life, it's first dance like song i ever liked. Says alot.
I love the battle music for overlord, which is also used for the rescue of the ex Cerberus scientists
"DO IT" -Commander Shepard
@johnnymorgan999 No offense meant to you and your team that was working on FIFA, but I'm definitely grateful it ended up in ME2. So far, it's been one of the best songs I've ever heard in a game. The cool vibe, the feel of this song, makes it just perfect for a futuristic nightclub. The other two clubs are also good, but Afterlife's frosty ambiance pushes all the right buttons for me. Good luck with all your future developments, and hopefully we'll hear more great songs from you!
Awesome tune. Keep it up John
11/10
Great upload, and thanks for download!
@VGAnxiety OMFG. I wish we in croatia have something like that, we have beautiful clubs but this... EXTREME DESIGN!!!
Much better than mass effect 3 music
Your preference makes you really interesting.
Yes much better than mass effect 3’s club music
You'll set off radiological alarms after you drink it
I knew this sounded familiar!!!
I remember hearing this in I think SSX3
Hell yeah, put more of the stuff... in the thing.... more stuff goes in !!1111
@johnnymorgan999 thank you very much. eventually it ended up in ssx3 and it was sweet riding down the slopes with this. later i found it back here and i was like 'hey!!!!' :D
Yesterday i was driving on highway while listening to this song and after end of it i realised im going 210 km/h. I just completely lost a perspective of speed. Incredible driving song! (and unike me, look at ur speed meter while listening to it:)
“Hell yeah. Put more of the stuff.. in the thing that.. the... stuff goes in.”
Your funeral.
Not done yet!
Its green?
@@02091992able It is. I'm sure there was a Vid about this.
