iKON debuted in 2o15 as a 7 member group under yg. They are now a 6 member group under 143 ent. iKON a lot of times are referred to as a hip hop group. They have a freeness and rawness/realness to them that I love. Bobby is the name of the rapper, you have reacted to one of his songs 'u mad'. He is considered by many to be in the top 5 ~3 of idol rappers. Some Koreans in the k hip hop scene say he's one of the reasons why rap became more mainstream popular as he being the only idol to win a rap contest called show me the money/smtm.

Ikon were monster rookies when they debuted back in 2015 . Ikon has had a very hard journey when it comes to fame so maybe reading up on them a little would also benefit you to understand the group and how they've been put through the ringer from several survival shows before finally debuting in ikon. I hope you listen to more of their older stuff too everything was great! I'd also recommend looking into Bobby he's probably one of the best rappers in his generation winning smtm3 and putting idol rappers on the map to not be looked down upon. He is very respected within the industry and has some solos as well as a subunit album with Mino (from Winner) called MOBB. They had a leader as well named B.I due to unfortunate circumstances of yg being .... yg is no longer with the group but is producing solo music and has produced some of yg's biggest hits Including, Whistle by blackpink, Empty by winner and then ikons own rhythm ta. All three of these songs sweeped in awards consecutively from 2014-2016. They are a talented bunch of individuals that are overlooked so I hope you can react to them some more !

The rapper was BOBBY, you guys have reacted to his 'U MAD' track before. He wrote 'U' as a gift to iKONICS. Can't go wrong with BOBBY's songwriting and composing skills. ☺
Just a rundown of their career when they were still with YG: iKON debuted as a Grand Slam Monster Rookie in all three countries Korea, Japan, and China. Typical YG management bs, wasted the hype after they debuted and sent them to Japan for nonstop concert tours. iKON is basically YG's touring group, the majority of their career was just tour after tour after tour. They were YG's 2nd biggest money maker next to BigBang till 2018 but only BOBBY was given the opportunity to have a Solo, No Solo songs/albums for their main vocalists, no promotions outside Asia, barely seen on tv, seldom group comebacks.
Then the 2019 scandal happened, B.I left the group followed by c o v i d and I guess yg just didn't know what to do with them anymore. They were put on hiatus for like 2 years. They had an album and a Japan tour before their contract ended though.
All of them did not renew with YG, took the copyrights of their songs, Social Media accounts, and their group name iKON and all signed with 143 Entertainment. 7 months post YG and their group and solo schedule are full till November: from festivals to variety shows to magazine shoots to drama roles etc... BOBBY just released an album and had his first Solo Tour (he will be releasing 3 more albums this year), Jinhwan released an album and had his first solo concert too. Yunhyeong, DK, and Junhoe had released their solo songs too (it was included in their latest album Take Off). Their current agency 143 is a very small company, not perfect, but they have given iKON the support and all the freedom to do everything that they want to do.
Currently, iKON is on a World Tour on top of their very busy schedule. Their last stop before their Encore in JP is the US, it's gonna be in September if you guys wanna check them out live. Concert dates are already posted on their SNS. ☺

They have the typical YG managment problem going on, being sent to Japan straight after a hyped/anticipated debut making korean gp forget about the group just to become popular in japan and tour constantly. Plus barely any comebacks just like all the groups/solo artists under yg bc that company still operates as if they’re in the 2000s or early 10s. and they don’t even compensate their lack of releases with full album releases with many songs. When Winner had their successful debut they just put them on hiatus from 2014-2016. We all know about Blackpink, at least that strategy works for them bc their fans are desperate for the minimum. And Treasure’s situation was similar too, debuted 18 months after their show bc of all the shit that went down in yg and lost the hype, they only released their variety show for the fans and after they debuted they got put on hiatus too a couple months later…same old shit. Just look at what yg has been doing in the first half of 2023, only release under the company was Jisoo’s solo and that wasn’t a full album. they need to change management and hire more employees bc they can’t even manage the few artists they have left. Kpop is way too competitive nowadays for the lack of music they put out, it just doesn’t work in this day and age. Only reason why YG is still able to operate this way is bc they have a stable south east asian fanbase that will defend their bad management bc they’re used to it for years and get to attend concerts anyway, since most yg artists don’t promote outside of (south) east asia, so they get some benefits at least

YG only has GEM ARTIST 💎 to bad they can’t manage them properly. All my ULT groups are YG groups/ artists 😮 and this was before I even new about label companies etc. These groups are so talented they are the reason Kpop is what it is now.
