2002 tins are an interesting beast. Crazy how much rarer they were than 2003 tins, even back in the day. 2003 tins were somewhat readily available as recently as 2013, while 2002 tins were impossible to find even back in 2003. Kind of like the reverse of TP1 vs TP2, where TP1 packs were somewhat readily available as recently as 2015, while TP2 packs were impossible to find by the time LON was released.
For me it was actually the opposite. The 02 tins (my first yugioh product ever) were in abundance in nyc in the east asian community shops, while none of the hobby shops had them (I lived closer to the asian malls/markets in flushing than i did to any hobby shops, closest being in astoria). I was able to get a blue eyes tin for my birthday while my brother got a red eyes tin on his (huge fans of watching yugioh every saturday 9 am channel 11 ya already know), and i remember the 03 tins came out none of the asian shops had them. I think it was more due to the shops having to have a license post konami rebranding ect and stuff but who knows. The hobby shop did have them tho.
Summoned Skull is my favorite here. Metal Raiders is the OG, but BPT is my favorite version aesthetically. Also, even as an elementary school kid I preferred the original logo to the rebrand. It just looks more unique and clean to me. Another amazing video, SS. I'm very much looking forward to your cleaning video!
as a casual player its super interesiting to watch your videos - ive seen u on tsx channel and its always nice to hear you speak about your passion for yugioh and look at all those randomly unique things - keep up , looking forward for all of your stuff :)
Nostalgia trip! I remember getting a few of these tins during Christmas & Birthday. They were awesome! I wish I could remember which ones they were AND have kept the cards themselves. The only one I still have to this day is the 2003 Blue-Eyes White Dragon Tin card. Still mad that they never used the original SDK art for it. Like, what were they thinking?!? This was so cool to see how you were able to pinpoint which cards have reverse foil or not. Absolutely worth it! Keep these up!
I have got to say it! I love the new way you open up the video! it feels so professional, and makes me feel like I am about to be in for a good time! I think that new intro has evolved this channel!
Awesome video dude, so much quality information in your content. I’m glad you addressed the fact that Konami dropped the ball by not printing SDK art Blue-Eyes. The point is really driven home when you realise Dark Magician got both SDK and LOB in 02/03, and the Blue-Eyes tin in 03 even had SDK art on the front, but still LOB art inside. SDK Blue-Eyes in that old secret rare would have been truly beautiful. Always irked me that that opportunity was missed
I appreciate so much your work and dedication to deeg into and to provide quality contents to viewers!! Man you didn't embarrassed yourself in the 2005 tin video, it was still epic at my eyes! I'm also a heavily Tcg collector and I love to go into the rabbit hole regarding distibution, production and history about products! If you haven't seen it yet, the Italian representative that partecipate at the 2005 World Champions recently put a documentary on YT with the never seen before videos that he registered back than... It's legendary!!
I think is really well done! Such nostalgic... So sad that we don't have so much content from the early completion from Yugi and Pokémon, while Magic is pretty well covered since the mid 90s 😂😎
Given how you have stated that you have a majority of matte tins, could it be that the reverse foils are less rare than first thought? Would also like to express an interest in your cleaning method that you mentioned. Hope to learn your trusted method in the future.
not sure if you will see this, hopefully someone in the comments may know too. how rare is a LOB Gaia the Dragon Champion TRIPLE misprint. i say triple because it has gold ultra lettering instead of the normal secret, it has reverse foiling like described in this video, and then it also has a very heavy foil bleed you can see on the entire card when shining a light on it. i appreciate any insight. not looking to price it just looking to learn how rare it actually is i'm becoming fascinated with misprints and really am enjoying learning more about these older ones and trying to collect them.
Damn son you literally making money educating people having fun what else would you rather do? Some cards I wonder if I held them would be today it's not much but to think I got them for pennies practically are crazy. Wonder where my homie that taught me how to play is now a days. He had like every misprint Ive seen including pages of that color card misprint. And binders of dark magician girl. That was his favorite card. I'm sure he is just sitting on them tbh. Keep the original series up man! I don't play todays game. I played from the beginning to 2013/14. But goat format was sooo fun. Sorry about my rant later
Bought the promos of these awhile ago when I felt that they were undervalued. Glad I did. Completely agree with you about the blue eyes promo. Wasted opportunity and doesn't look as good when I pair it with the og dark magician and red eyes promos. Konami has to release the sdk art in a true secret rare form. DDS is too expensive and the prismatic foiling doesn't count imo.
Hey man! Love your channel. Could you make a video about the differences between English US, European and Asian cards? Also, how do you know which one you’re getting when you buy them?
Has there ever been a definitive answer as to why the LOB Blue Eyes art was used twice in this series of tins? I thought it might have been to preserve the status of DDS Blue Eyes but I really don't believe that Konami would have thought like that, especially when Dark Magician SDY art was allowed both DSS and BPT.
That is insane Detail which I appreciate 🙏 Wow 👌Great Video. This is something that I didn't know which is very nice to know and the binder collection is looking sexy 😍 .
You are using very old Ultra Pros for your cards - I suggest to change them or you will regret it in the future. Because that round logo will left marks on the cards sooner or later. I bought so many old collections over the years and had to see an unholy amount of cards being robbed from their Near Mint/Mint status because of those sleeves.
@@StrictlySealed I understand. Yeah your informations and knowledge are impressive. No discussion. I just remembered my first LOB booster. So was curious what was inside these :D No Problem.
Notification squad!
This channel is the alpha investments of Yugioh. Your quality is getting a lot better, keep killing it.
I'm a long time subscriber of Alpha. Your so right. Love this guy. Came to my attention through Sam's videos. Big love dudes
lol it is definetly not my dude
It’s so awesome seeing a true high tier collector on TH-cam sharing his knowledge. Thanks man! Your video production is immensely gaining quality!
man your collection literally blows me away. you are the rare hunter lol
The fact you are so dedicated to figuring out the way one can tell if they have a reverse or regular is crazy. Absolutely awesome content.
While I'm not a collector I do enjoy seeing the era of cards that you show. Thank you for sharing your research with us.

That re-fitted KC case for tins is just another great example of passion for collecting 🔥
You've got a great channel, man. No one else is putting out these kinds of videos. I dig the darker aesthetic too.
Excellent video. Looking forward to seeing this channel grow!

Stricktly sealed is probably the most legit, intelligent, knowlegable, and respectable card collector on yugion today.

I would love to see your cleaning methods
Insane how deep the lore goes. Crazy how you discovered this shit.
Such nostalgic tins
Did you make the video about cleaning the backs of cards?
Thanks for the video!
BPT Dark Magician is probably my favorite card of all time.

Had so many questions about these reverse bpts that I’m collecting to grade, thanks for the info, incredibly hard to come by in mint 💀
Hey, you learn something new everyday with strictly sealed, haha. Awesome video again, you never disappoint 👍
I have a reverse foil Red Eyes and it also has less scuffinng on the back
Ghosts from the Past sales 📈 after cleaning video comes out
I've got a lord of d tin so I'm gonna have to check and see if it's matte 😉
i love your videos and the products which are represented!!

Why do I get the vibe he’s 420 friendly
Amazing as usual

I actually have all of them reversed secret rare. My favorite probably black skull dragon or red eyes

I'm a player rather than a collector, and greatly enjoyed how much more affordable BPT are compared to DDS for my Dark Magicians!
Still need to know where you get your hands on those sleeves
Whats your opinion, should I go for a card with regular card or a reverse one - collect wise ? 😊
Wonder if your able to like clean and press certain cards like comic books. Awesome video tho 👌
Why do some bpt blue eyes say limited edition and others don’t? For example like the one u have in the video. Also which one is better?
I know this is all about the tins, but man, I need that KC case lol.

Great video as per usual man 👌🏼 glad to see the spotlight on Konami’s biggest crime 😂😭
"The 30 or so tins that I had"
wow
What sleeves are those, I need them!
Hey Strictly, do the 03 promos come in reverse as well or was it just the 02s?
Just the 2002 tins
Do you have the EX Starter Box 1999?
Cool video!

The promos are great, but tins with a window imo look better👀
Intro song?
Video was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I never got a tin.. unfortunately. I have 3 of the GX tins though lol

I had about 10 of these tins back than 😂
