    I really liked this video. It’s encouraged me to try weightlifting more than your videos about the elites, honestly. I think seeing a fellow mortal lift makes this much more relatable and even fun to try :)

    Wow Seb has an arm bend, I did not expect that. Great job though Seb, PR’s are a lot of hard work!

      Yeah I've had a pretty wicked arm bend in the snatch for a few years. I've put in a fair amount of work to stop it but at this point it doesn't feel like enough of a limiting factor to try to resolve considering how much work it would take to fix and how little it is holding me back.

      I noticed the arm bend in the snatch also. In my experience bending the arms prematurely in the snatch DOES impact the maximum weights lifted in the snatch. This is why. Bending the arms at that point in the pull partially contracts the traps which reduces the force that we can exert in the final pull under the bar. If we keep our traps fully stretched out prior to the explosion/ extension off our thighs we are able to generate more speed on the bar, which translates into more weight lifted.
      You are too close to your meet now to change this but I recommend after your meet you try moving your snatch grip out ever so slightly and I'll bet you could eliminate this arm bend and lift more in the snatch. Give it a try and best wishes for your meet!

    I watched this to see how Seb did in his contest prep and because I'm enjoying the content. But not even 2 minutes into the video I found myself saying "Wait! So Weightlifting House has weight plates?" I don't recall seeing them on the website when I was looking for the book on the top weightlifters of all time (I'm hoping a female version will be released soon). You all are doing a good job.

    Can you make a video on barbells? Or address us to a channel that specialises on them? The barbells you use seem the same as those in my local gym but i dont know how much OHPs and then drop can then handle. Or if i'm pr-ing on deadlift/ squats and i drop it, i dont wanna let my gym without barbells ( small gym , 2 squat barbells max ) .
    I would appreciate some queues to see how new vs used barbells look, sound , move etc !

    I got a comp on september 4th aswell looking to do 100/120kg at around 87kg bw. Hope I will beat seb

    Just wondering, but your backside is rising first during the initial pull in your C&J, is that an issue, or is that acceptable?... I've always worked on keeping my back flat during the initial pull, making sure everything moves as one... Great work though... 👏

      The goal is definitely to keep the back angle the same as the bar moves from the floor to just above the knees.
