Keep in mind that aling with the 8 major biomes will be numerous minor transition zones. When desending from the volcano and you see trees, don't just assume that you are in the riverlands or the jundark yet.

I've been getting the feeling from the class showcases that the "talent" trees aren't talent trees but rather just progression trees. So the customization comes from the weapons and which secondary archtype you choose. *shrug* heck do I know though. They used to talk as if it was more like an eso skill setup where you'd choose the skills you want and how much you invested into each one.
To answer the animation ting I think its because the hit box of the attack is hitting before the actual animation "looks" like it is hitting, they just need to add some delay to the hit animation or make the swing come out faster. But its been stated before this is in Alpha state and I would put this under Beta polish.
I was under the impression that diversifying builds is coming mostly from investing more points in certain abilities to upgrade and slightly change them. Not just ignoring an ability completely.
I dont think we will see a lot if build diversity options at this point. My guess is steven wants the core concepts for the classes done so each one has a unique play style and then branch them off from there. Talents and trees can easily be moved around and changed once these concepts are figured out.

I personally hate transmog, I feel it takes away from the achievement of new armor. I was thinking a clean way to implement this (because I seem to be the only one who does not like it) would be to add it to the crafting system. Ex you want your shield redesigned into a tower shield you have to find a Shield smith that has the appropriate skill level
Im COKED OUT THE WAZOO! Can't wait to NOT PLAY Alpha 2 because I can't afford to buy a temporary play time in a game that, literally, DOES NOT EXIST. However! I will thoroughly enjoy watching all of the youtubers content that comes out of Alpha 2. Hopefully, the breadth of content for Alpha 2 can express at minimum, how the game plays from beginning to end game.
And also Ashes release is may not that far away than one may some think, it wouldn't be smart from a marketing perspective to wait to long after alpha 2 release. My thoughts on this 1 year Alpha 2 then short brake (3-5 month) then Beta 1 for 1 Month then Break (3-5 month) and then beta 2 for 1 month. Means end of 2026 or beginning 2027. :)
I wish that they would let us choose just a few spells from your secondary spec.as the specs. I’d love to be able to pick a few spells that that you put a few points into the secondary spell.give us mini trees from each class. Stevan likes lineage and AA\. This made those games classes different and fun
Some delayed animations/frames, etc. add more weight or build-up to the skill or attack. I wouldn't over correct everything, I really liked some of the slower chunkyness and lower frames of the attacks, spells, etc. Otherwise it can end up feeling too light from being overly smoothed, or sped up. Obviously some adjustments are needed, but I think some of these are intentional for good reason. I do a lot of cinematography, and as I'm sure you know, there difference between 24 frames and 60 frames is insane, it's the difference between looking epic like a movie in the theater at 24fps, and looking like a home-recording at 60fps. I think we need to be careful with how much we critique animations and frames until we get hands-on, it's a bit much before we know how it feels.
Didnt they just announce the fact that "milestone 8" was completed...? and there are "planned 8 biomes in A2" :thonk: does that mean that they just finished the biomes for A2?
Something in the same vein as the spells being mandatory, is as of right now I feel that the itemization is currently designed the same way. Most obliviously with the ranger where part of your kit directly references ranged attacks so now if you try to make a melee ranger you're handicapping yourself. Another concern I have is the way weapon damage interacts with spells, If its based on weapon dps then classes no matter what they are are just going to be picking up the same items, you also run into the same problem if it just stat based. So instead of opening up all classes to all weapons all you did was just vastly reduce the realistically useable items in game.
