  • In this video I demonstrate how to precisely copy and paste automation data between tracks using hot keys to maintain cursor position in the timeline. Often overlooked, never overused! Please like, share and subscribe. Questions are welcome in the comment section below!

      Hi, can you elaborate, please? It's a demonstration of how to copy and paste automation data...

      @@danymalsound He means you don't actually tell people HOW to cut and paste automation! You're saying 'Copy it again' but haven't explained how to actually DO that in the first place, and it's not CMD+V/CMD+V or right-click and select from the context-menu, so I can't use this tutorial. This is like part 2, but you've skipped out the fundamentals alluded to in the title.
      It's not a bad video, but you either need to make it clear in the title that it's a tutorial about time-accurate copy-pasting to avoid unintentionally misleading people and getting the wrong viewers. Like me!

    how can i copy automation from one send to another send?

    • @danymalsound
      @danymalsound  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Simplest way would be to open all the lanes with which you want to do this, highlight/select the area from the lane you want to copy and paste this data onto the destination lane. Easiest way to do this without losing your cursor position is to navigate up and down using the "P" (up) and "semicolon" (down) keys. Hope this helps and thank you for commenting! Cheers!

      @@danymalsound so about that lmao it only works if its on the same exact send wether its on the same track or not, idk why but it wont let me do what you just said ive been trying and looking online and everyone says what you said for me and idk why i have to recreate only unless its the same exact send no matter if on the same track or not not sure why at all

      @@Herbsus the data you're trying to copy and paste isn't tied to anything. When I said "open all lanes," I mean to expand the active lanes of a track, so any sends, etc. So, if you have a volume ride on bus 1 for a given track (example), you would simply open the lane for that bus/send, highlight the piece of automation and copy it to wherever else you want it. Also, again, to make sure it "locks" horizontally," just use the P and semicolon keys to navigate vertically between your tracks and lanes. Hope this helps!
