When the birds are in lift, they are actually just floating around flying slow so they can get as much of the lift as possible. But at any moment, when they see something interesting, they can reach speeds well over 100 miles per hour!
@@digjca No, not the same as how dogs see themselves as part of the family unit. The falcons are not social creatures, so they are independent. They know that food comes from us, and protection.

What an amazing thing to do! Can't wait to get to know the birds a little more. How long do you have to train before you can fly like that?
It can take around 2-3 years of serious training before the birds are reliable at parahawking! It's a serious commitment!
Does the falcons perceive you as family?
There is a sense of Trust and Safety!
My question is more in the sense of fx dogs who perceive them self as a part of the family. Do falcons do the same?
