I’m *NOT* cool with $60 subscriptions. I disagree with saying “you just need to read more” and so on. I think they should make it VISIBLE. (Visible enough that you don’t have to dig for it or break out the magnifying glass) Anything else is just sneaky!!

Ashton Drake is a collector company that has been around for decades. They've done dolls, porcelain plates, Christmas villages, ect... I haven't been to their site in ages. I'm glad they are updating their collections. Now I want to go look. LOL
I have the same subscription! You're going to get one more little alien, THEN you'll get the UFO holder, and one more alien after that, though that's all for the collection so far. I'm not sure if they're going to do more. Also the blue one changes color in the sun!
Edit: Also, they send out one delivery per month, which is also the rate at which you're billed for it.

This has major "I bought stuff on Amazon at 2 am and it shows up 12 hrs later and is not at all what I thought I ordered vibes" this happens to me weekly since Covid.

It's not your fault Bunny! I've certainly ran into hidden subscriptions before! I especially hate it when you try to get in contact with them to cancel it and can't so you have to get a new card so they can't keep charging you... Ya that happened.
It absolutely should be made clear when they list the service or items that it's a recurring expense, and I mean from the get go not them uploading it then editing it when they get a few confused emails asking why all they're being charged again (because I absolutely do think that happens fairly commonly). This one I couldn't be mad at though because it's just so darn precious. I love aliens. I also wish someone would make a ghost and robot because I'd fall over myself wanting those.
I took a look at the listing for these and they have "each issue" stated now, but I feel like not everyone is going to know that that means it's a subscription deal and they have small greyed out text that says "Comes with the opportunity to collect as many of the remaining issues as you wish, with no obligation or commitment, for just £59.98 plus S&S per issue. See 'About The Collection' below" which I feel like they've probably added on since you purchased, and also should be at least the same size as the other text on the page just for the sake of clarity. It also states further down the page that they'll only charge you and send the next alien "on approval" which could mean they approve you or that they're meant to get your approval before charging you and sending the doll out. The wording gets really weird like they start talking about "view on approval" which might be clear to someone who collects reborns or has dealt with the site before but for someone like me who hasn't it's a bit confusing.
Either way I'm tempted because these little things are so cute it makes me want to cry.
I wish sub site had a 'one time purchase' option so you can actually trail before being sucked in cause even trail packs put you on their sub lists and some are a nightmare to get out of!

I felt that way when I tried Proactiv. I had no idea that I was signing up for a subscription and the next $60 package was a definite unpleasant surprise. I was making minimum wage at the time and $60 was a lot. I feel like you should outright know what you're signing up for instead of the terms and conditions being buried in pages and pages of fine print, but that's just me.
Also, "normal" sleep schedules are overrated. 😂
Oh Proactiv is evil. I made the same mistake. They send you more way before you need it too.

I LOVED nick @ nite! I used to watch “Get Smart” religiously, it was my favorite. I liked the shows at night more than the kid shows during the day. 🤣

That blue one might be glow in the dark! A lot of times, silicone of that color glows. :) You should try charging him in the sun or with a light and seeing if he glows!
They're $50 a piece. They do not state it's a subscription at the top and you have to scroll all the way down to see it's a subscription.

Those are cute! Ashton-Drake has been around forever. They aren't really a subscription service like most are. They have specific artist collections and you get the first one and can decide if you want to continue getting the collection or cancel but unlike the other what is referred to as subscription boxes you don't continually get them. You only get the amount of that collection. The other company like this is The Bradford Exchange.

i Get the nocturnal thing. It makes functioning at work very challenging as people just don't 'get it' and when you're expected to be at work at 8am I'm screwed if I am not only tranquilizer quantities of melatonin by 9pm so I can fall asleep by 11pm. A lot of companies put it in very tiny font that it's a subscription and/or make it very difficult to cancel. My mom has a collection from Ashton Drake, so I know exactly what you mean--it was a written order form back then, but the font is ITTY BITTY and the process of cancellation is mind-numbing. A lot of times, they have a series that you're getting into.

I do believe there are a lot of us that are night owls. We have tried everything under the sun to change our time and it will always fall right back into place. I also think it runs in families because I too come from a family of night owls, I call my mom at 2o’clock in the morning like other people would call their mom at two in the afternoon.
