Lou IS Foreigner! We love you brother! You still have it, WHAT A VOICE MY MAN! What they did to you, turns my stomach! Thank you for all you have given us.
This brings back great memories……driving my car, just cruising around and midnight blue comes on and you instantly have to crank it up…..gosh I loved the 80’s

I remember it well. Midnight Blue was my favourite song in 1987. I used to play it on max volume in my beautiful Datsun 260Z, scream it out for all to hear, haha.
The iconic voice of a generation.......he defined what a great rock singer was all about. Midnight Blue proved emphatically that he could do it without Foreigner. By contrast..Foreigner never had a hit song without Lou Gramm. Class act.
This man has been thru so much. Apparently true rock stardom does not answer all one's questions or needs. As beat up as he is, bless him for still putting it out there. (btw, this was a very cool song)
It's crazy and amazing at the same time that it seems his singing voice is getting a second life. That brain tumor totally ravaged his health, and frankly, i didn't see him coming back from it. He's not romping around stage like he did in his 30's, but who among us does now? He puts his effort into the vocals. A really awesome rendition of his solo classic!!!
The amazing part his the man has been through hell and worked is butt off to get back to this place in time, where he can sing like this. Much respect.
Just LOVE all of these comments, giving Lou a ton of love, respect, and their gratefulness for him sharing his talent. Saw him Solo in Rochester, this year, what a great show. Lou you are the BEST! You and Steve Perry made the late 70s and 80s AWESOME!
Way to go Lou! When Lou was with Foreigner, my brother David toured and managed the sound equipment on several Foreigner tours...including the Head Games tour, the Double Vision Tour, and Foreigner 4 tour... whenever the band came to San Diego, we got backstage passes and I got to meet the band several times. Over the years, brother David toured with many other bands as well and we got the same backstage treatment, including the J. Geils Band, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, INXS, and Aldo Nova to name a few... What I remember most about Foreigner is that Lou Gramm was always present backstage and gracious to talk to us "mortals" like a normal guy... with the other bands, it was usually the band members MINUS the lead singers - who were usually absent and preferring to be left alone in their trailers, etc. Lou - was and still is one of the greats - both on and off stage!!! So glad to hear Lou sounding so good again after battling health issues!
My favourite sing in 1987. I was 21 at the time and used to play it loud in my Datsun 260Z and sing along trying to match Loue's vocals. Great times! Amazing to see he's still rocking at 74! Thanks for the memories, Lou!
My 1st lp was Double Vision, giving to me for a Christman present along with a cheap record player. It was 1978 I was in the 5th grade and 10 years old. Thanks' mom.
Wow - well done. He sounds terrific. It takes a lot to hit those notes - a lot of emotional and physical energy. He delivered. Having your hearing at that age is also amazing for a rock singer.
I was amazed and so happy for him. He has gained back almost all of that classic Lou Gramm sound. Hopefully he won't retire like he has hinted. What great karma it would be for Mick to completely hang it up, and have Lou soldier on for a few more years. 😂
The best song of the year.. I still remember it- and I think he sounds so amazing still! The passion he puts in this song, you can tell, he loves it- and for this I give great respect.. always, nicer to know someone loves what they are doing/singing and not just doing it for the money.. love you LOU!!
Saw some history on a blog on this song, and it turns out Foreigner turned this song down so Lou kept it for himself. A lot of times, you write a song that you know is good even though your bandmates may think it needs more work, but Lou had faith in this song and it was rewarded.
Saw Foreigner Saturday 23 ,1978 in El Paso Texas for 7.50 + service fee 1.50 under 😮 10.00 dollars!?! For a great super fantastic 🎉show played all their hits to that point. Played for about 2.30 hours!!! Those were the good old concert 🎶 days. 😢miss those days!!!!-.-
