Thanks for a cracking build. Set it up yesterday (non trial gear) and getting up to 60K in public dungeons. Only change I made was skill order to help me remember rotation. yes I'm old 🙂 1. Barb, 2. Blade, 3.Harness, 4.Puncture (repeat) then 5.Rad (at 20%). going to try it on vMA later then on to Trials for Whorl gear.
Just wanted to say a big thank you Lucky! I've been playing for a week now, already past 160cp and i have oakensoul, order's wrath 5/5, nirn 5/5/ slimecraw. As I followed all your other guides for leveling scrying/the guilds/weaving/deconstruction and all the good stuff you've got me really fast into the game and being somewhat mediocre for only 1 week, although I have MMO exp it is still testiment to your amazing guides and their quality. Please keep up the good work!
Not having Major Breach on a build like this seems like a bit of an oversight, especially in solo settings. I would probably switch out blazing spear or barbed trap for caltrops or Elemental Drain - but other than that, it is absolutely perfect! Thanks!
You get that in group. For solo, you can reach cap by using caltrop and power of the light. Depending on how many medium armour pieces, may also use force of nature slottable for extra pen and of course lover. Easy fix. Full pen. Good luck. Edit: TL:DR: 4 Mediums 3 Light, Caltrops, PoT, Lover.
Well god dang it, this is almost the exact same build as I use, the only difference being, I use a 2 handed axe, some nice extra crit damage, and instead of Harness Magica, I use Carve, love the extra DOT, and used right can almost have the shield up permanently, also helps with Magic sustain and it hit’s like a freight train!
This seems like a fun build. I'm going to try this and a few of the other one bar builds you've created - and try playing them on a macro pad. I think the one bar concept would be perfect, as you could create a custom etched key cap set for each class ability and play in a fun casual way.
This is a surprisingly good build with some nice insights, I myself would prefer having a trial set but that would increase the difficulty in putting it together.

If you are using oakensoul do not forget to swap it out for something else if you run the cloudrest trial. The Voltaic Overload mechanic will kill your team.
Is the Barbed trap still worth for the DOT, now that Oakensoul gives minor force instead of major ? Also is the Puncturing sweeps nerf not that bad? as i see its still the spammable on the updated written guide
For the hemorrhaging damage it does it is massive, though to be honest you can slap something like a morphed entropy in there and get some extra passive heals which also targets multiple mobs so long as you apply it.
Well god dang it, this is the almost the exact same build as I use, the only difference being, I use a 2 handed axe, some nice extra crit damage, and instead of Harness Magica, I use Carve, love the extra DOT, and used right can almost have the shield up permanently, it’s hit’s like a freight train!
I'm gonna build this to get the skin from Vvh . 1 thing though, necromancer is the best res'er in the game, being able to res multiple allies with 1 button instantly is hard to beat.
How does this fare with the recent nerf? [EDIT] - I note your page states that it's updated for U35... I'll give this a bash, as I really want to use Oakenarse now I spent a headache getting the bloody thing! :p
Setting up this one bar build with the starter gear. Question is what can be used instead of Iceheart ( Head & Shoulder) that will complement the rest of this set up? I am not good at Dungeons (Shout out to the Hubby who tries to teach me LOL) so Farming these Dungeon pieces is not an option just yet. I do not want to add something that will take away from the build. I follow alot of your guides and they are super helpful. I just did not see an alternative to this one, Would Magnus work? I noticed its listed in a bullet point but not what its interchangeable with. TIA
I made a solo stam warden building hitting the same numbers if not a little higher with no execute. If your bored I’d look into stam warden the dot and bleed from main spammable is gross
Hi there! Is this build still viable with so many oakensoul major buffs getting nerfed back to minor? Also, I noticed in the written guide, barbed trap has been swapped out for ritual of ret is both the solo and group bars, but is still listed in the skill tree?
I really wanna try SnB with this type of build. It just feels right for Templar’s to use SnB or a Greatsword 😅 but I feel like it won’t put out as much damage but oh well worth a shot and having fun

So the only difference I've done so far is deadly instead if pillar of nirn * I'm still grinding for that set* and I'm using 2 hand instead of daggers and I can only hit about 20k dps not 100k. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
so with this build trial setup can you run kinras over pillar and still get high dmg? and can it still solo vma and vet vate with the trial setup whorl and nirn?
You can't switch to the back bar even if you want to. My solo magicka Templar build shows the two bar loadout for skills if you want to throw stuff on back bar

This build absolutely does not hit 100k today, And there's no way it was a few months ago when this was posted. It says on the website it's updated for patch 36....yet still claiming 100k dps. Top end, it hits about 80k, and that's swapping the absorb mag enchant for poison on the dagger.
How do you manage mana? Does the light armor absorb shield give enough when you are hit along with the gear/food you are using? I can't seem to spam skills enough without having to charge up using a staff.
food, potions on cooldown, light armor passives, CP, class passives. make sure you have all the passives, make sure you're using those potions as soon as you're able to to have max uptime on the regen they give
@LuckyGhost how would the ring work with a Frost Warden?? Im not the huge math/function gear testers that a lot of yall are, but I love aspects of classes, and this looks for. Plus, Im old and have dexterity issues, so One Bar DPS toons are better for me. Thanks for all the content btw!!

What I don't get is, P.o.n says the damage scales off of wd/sd, so wouldn't it make more sense to run a set that gives weapon or spell damage instead of a crit set?

hey is it possible when u visit some1 home to hack their chest? its just my acc is not hacked its secure but my alchemy chest was full of mats from years ago and new the chest is empty but not sure how long its been empty (i put some in today), i also noticed few other chests were empty 1 or 2, or did patch wipe them or did they wipe it with maintenance? its only the chests nothing is gone from the bank there are mats there to mats that i may need more if i make new char for example
I’ve been running a mag guild skill for the passives. With the ring, is there any reason to do that now vs switching to fighters guild? I’m running a lightning staff so will likely keep that ultimate but wondering if it’s worth switching to fighters guild for passives on my main abilities. Seems mostly a trade off of damage (FG) vs magika/mag recovery (MG).

I think with the actual nerfed oakensoul you won't get anywhere near 100k and even then you're animation canceling a lot. Also this may have been pre-jabs nerf. Should update the build or at least edit the title
Thus video went up a year ago, the oakensoul nerf happened what, four months after high isles release? Jabs didn't take a nerf. What they did was, instead of 6 hits less damage a hit its like 3 hits, more damage a hit if memory serves me correctly.

Is that 100k corrected, based on 21mil divided by time? Or is that 100k the broken dummy numbers are currently showing? I was excited I hit 104k on 1bar Sorc, then someone told me about the bug. Divided, it was 93k+, still good, but accurate.
That is the swap I do if doing more general farming, AOE trash etc. I only use RG if I know if it is a boss fight that will take longer than a minute, such as arenas or world boss farms
In terms of parses solar barrage is a little less damage and a more complicated rotation so I liked Radiant glory more. (use spear as a spammable for 4+ mobs btw)

Most sets are hybridized now. You can use medium armor sets on Magicka toons by frontbarring the set (weapons and jewelry) and vice versa with light armor sets and stam toons.

Try swapping nirn for Medusa. I love that build. Thing I don’t like about how I play is unless I’m jabbing I feel like I’m going to die but that plays bad with my sustain. I have to train myself to dot up and rotate and use jabs as a rotation not a constant. I know the damage drops a lot but if you run leeching plate on the body with destro Staff 1 neck 1 ring and shoulders of Medusa your pretty much unkillable or if you are on end tier content drop oak and go for pale and you never die but DPS drops a lot
good video i hate that u can't make a good long rage templar, that templar doesn't have good skills for it same with DK mage, close range mage just brakes immersion, mage should be long range (unless ur battle mage with med or heavy armor meaning also same bonuses as light armor), so fire breath should be 30m for mage

Just tried 2H axe, precise. Dps jumped from 52.5k base game dummy to 59k. That’s without carve or ulti.

From what I've read the game detects you are using Oakensoul and you don't have to swap it out, so long as you don't have a weapon on your back bar.

Where in the video is your dps meter? Is this 100k single target dps or AoE?
You should make a mid maxed Nightblade one bar that I can do everything on. Everyone makes templars. I’m tired of complicated DPS rotations

Is use SnB for running casual content and nDungs. I switch to great sword for solo content and groups.
If you put on reaving blows cp your sweeps are cracked.

You don’t need Kinras’s because you’re getting the buffs from Oakensoul ring 😊

It’s not a easy 100k on the dummy, which is why you do not have a parse clip. It is however a solid build.

the oakensoul ring was changed to have minor force, so we no longer need to provide it with barbed trap :)

my sustain was insane with this build, so I'd gladly give up sustain passives in mages guild for damage in fighters guild (which is what we did here)

In your written guide you have Relequeen as an alternative for Nirn, so which one is better? Even if marginally.

How about using a 2h? It hard to find a build with 2h weapons, most use dualweapons or bow for stam and staffs for mag :D (one bar)
When it comes to the Oaken Soul builds is the Oaken Soul something you need to go get right away or do you wait until level 50 or does it matter?
It's a mythic you get from antiquities so it'll always be level 50 CP 160
It’s amazing get it! Getting scrying up is the longest part, getting the leads is easy. Best item on game by a mile

I may be wrong but I think it only buffs if it’s equipped on your active bar.
Back bar is completely different, when it’s not being used it’s doing nothing

Hey for some reason my Puncturing Sweeps IV only shows I'm healing for like 33%, not 41% as listed in your tooltip. Am I missing something?

Is that 100k corrected, based on 21mil divided by time? Or is that 100k the broken dummy numbers are currently showing? I was excited I hit 104k on 1bar Sorc, then someone told me about the bug. Divided, it was 93k+, still good, but accurate.
it hit 106k on the dummy via combat metrix, in other words that is the accurate dps number

Hey Lucky. How do you feel about Solar Barrage instead of Radiant Glory?
That is the swap I do if doing more general farming, AOE trash etc. I only use RG if I know if it is a boss fight that will take longer than a minute, such as arenas or world boss farms
In terms of parses solar barrage is a little less damage and a more complicated rotation so I liked Radiant glory more. (use spear as a spammable for 4+ mobs btw)
I prefer Solar barrage because its a Dawns Wrath skill and trigger the passive Illuminate (for Minor Sorcery), but i don't use Radiant Glory so...
Do i need to use deadly? Or can i use tzog? Since ive already got my tzog transmuted

Hi, is this build still viable to solo world bosses/normal dungeons etc, returning player after 4 yrs and like the look of this build but heard the ring has been nerfed a few times?
The build can still be viable, but you’re not parsing nowhere near 100k lol

Weaving changes are tiny and I'm for it. Basic auto attacks accounting for up to 20 percent of my damage was silly. Longer dots sound fun as well!
Why use stam set when geared for mag? Deadly strikes and Nirn are stam. Why?
Most sets are hybridized now. You can use medium armor sets on Magicka toons by frontbarring the set (weapons and jewelry) and vice versa with light armor sets and stam toons.

Try swapping nirn for Medusa. I love that build. Thing I don’t like about how I play is unless I’m jabbing I feel like I’m going to die but that plays bad with my sustain. I have to train myself to dot up and rotate and use jabs as a rotation not a constant. I know the damage drops a lot but if you run leeching plate on the body with destro Staff 1 neck 1 ring and shoulders of Medusa your pretty much unkillable or if you are on end tier content drop oak and go for pale and you never die but DPS drops a lot
Also I never block unless it’s an obvious attack inbound, my worst trait in game. I’m learning tho. Great build.
tried medusa, it parses significantly lower. but if you don't have pillar of nirn, its not a bad option

i hate that u can't make a good long rage templar, that templar doesn't have good skills for it
same with DK mage, close range mage just brakes immersion, mage should be long range (unless ur battle mage with med or heavy armor meaning also same bonuses as light armor), so fire breath should be 30m for mage
